Feeling incision with pregnancy?

DD was born with emergency csection in August '10. I had an amazingly easy recovery, hardly any pain or issue with my incision on ocassion I was aware of it being there for about two months, that slight tingly feel etc but that soon went away. I am now 11 wks PG with #2 and suddenly am *slightly* aware of my incision does hurt much just feels a little itchy. Anyone else experience this?

Re: Feeling incision with pregnancy?

  • Yup, throughout pregnancy #2 I've had periods of itchiness at the incision site.  I've also had some stabbing tingly pains as my uterus has grown.

  • Yep I had that throughout my 2nd pregnancy.  That area would also be particularly crampy feeling from time to time as things grew and stretched. That didn't really stop until 3rd trimester some time.

  • Yup.  DD1 was an unplanned c/s, so with DD2 the incision felt itchy and I had some twinges.  DD2 was a RCS.  This time around I have the itchiness, twinges, and now an occasional pinch - which is not painful, just annoying.

  • Thanks, glad I'm not alone. Also interesting that y'all mention the slight pain--I've just started to feel that too.

  • I'm sure it's because mine are so close, but mine is downright sheer pain. RLP cannot even begin to compare. Honestly, had I known my uterus would hurt so much we would have seriously reconsidered getting pg so quickly. I knew it wouldn't be a walk in the park, but my OB said with 12 months between deliveries there should be no problems. Yeah... I didn't take the new scar stretching into account.
