Rinsing Question

Experienced CD moms please let me know:

Do I HAVE to rinse the diapers before washing them. LO is 5 weeks old, EBF and most of his diapers with the exception of maybe 2, have just a small amount of poop. I'm a FTM and LOVE CDing and how easy it is. I just throw the used ones in a bin and wash them every other day. I do a machine Cold Rinse before I "wash" them with detergent.

Am I setting myself up for stinky diapers in the future? Is there anythine wrong with not rinsing during the BF phase since it's water soluble?

I'm still considering CDing DC#2, but from what I understand...if you're EBF or EFF you can throw your CDs straight into the bin or washer without any rinsing!  I believe rinsing begins after introducing solid foods.

You shouldn't need to rinse the diapers out before putting them in the laundry hamper with EBF and EFF babies poo.

DD is BF and just over 3 months. I just do a cold rinse in my machine, then a hot wash w/cold rinse and an extra rinse.  If you don't have any stink now you should be okay.

If you have a HE machine, you may not have enough water without the rinse to saturate your diapers before you wash them. If you have a regular machine, you should be fine unless you start getting stink issues down the road. I have a HE frontloader, so I always did a rinse cycle to saturate my diapers, even when my girls were EBF.

This is what I do.  If you do end up with stinky diapers down the line, just wash them again.
