I definitely think there are going to be a ton of babies born around 9 months from now. I had two girlfriends tell me there's something sexy about being home during a hurricane. I don't know about you guys, but I was totally terrified! There was NOTHING sexy about that experience for me... I was wide awake at 1-3am afraid my windows were going to get blown in!
On another note, my newest little one was conceived around mid-June. But honestly, DH and I are going with immaculate conception because I was on a cruise with my BFF for her 30th bday the week prior and I had a horrible sinus infection which started a few days after I returned and lasted for about 2.5 weeks. It's sad but we both have zero recollection of this baby's conception. With DS, I can safely call him an "Inauguration Day baby" as DH and I had tix to go but we were lame and didn't want to deal with metro, crowds, cold weather, etc. but we had both taken off from work since we were planning to go... and voila, DS is born 9 months later.
Re: Baby boom thoughts
we were TTC for DD but DS was a very very nice surprise. I am 99.9% sure he was conceived when we took a trip to some Natl' Parks out west; DD was going to come w/ us until last minute, when my parents offered to watch her. How different our life would've turned out if she came!
TTC #2: BFP 12/17/11, m/c 1/7/12 and D&C 1/12/12

That's interesting about the hurricane. If it does happen, I would bet that it's more to do with the power being out in certain places and people having nothing much better to do.
I don't remember exactly when both our kids were conceived. All I know is that I probably went on Fertility Friend and saw a green light and then I seduced DH. LOL.
I know exactly the days #1 and #3 were conceived, but not #2.
Earthquake/hurricane in the same week - may have lit a fire under some folks who were on the fence about having kids?
I was saying the very same thing to my husband about the hurricane....not that I was feeling sexy, but that there would be a baby boom. Being stuck indoors....with a loss of power.........ummm hmmmm there will be a boom!
As far as the conception of my two little ones....apparently we like Halloween around here. We know exactly when our first child was conceived....then when our second came along there was only a 2 day difference in the estimated due date!
Yeah, I bet there will be a baby boom. I'm certain that being stuck inside with nothing to do leads to lots of fun from adults. :-)
I know when both of mine were conceived, but we were TTC both times.
