DD was born March 1. I think she'll be in 9-12months clothing during the really cold winter months here. What outerwear should I put her in when going out? A one-piece pram? a 'snow suit' that has ski pants and separate coat? just a heavy coat?
You aren't supposed to put anything heaver than fleece sweatshirts/jackets under the carseat harness. So if you're driving somewhere, put her in the car seat in normal clothes (+hat and mittens) and then cover her with a blanket.
If you'll be outside playing or walking, then I'd say a one piece fleece/sherpa snowsuit. Like this and then add a blanket on top. I'd only bother with ski gear if you're in really cold weather... Alaska, Minnesota, etc. You can always layer under the snowsuit.
ETA: We have a fleece zip-up hoodie along with a fleece and sherpa blanket for in the car seat. He doesn't wear shoes yet, so I have fuzzy slippers for his feet and then a hat and mittens. I'll be getting a fleece snowsuit for when we're walking around outside.
We're going to get DD a snowsuit like this for snow play. I assume she'll be walking or at least cruising by the new year (me and DH were both walking by 10m and DD is big and strong - she can already stand on her own holding onto the couch).
We bought a North Face little down jacket in a 12m size last fall at the outlet when I was pregnant. It should be perfect for the colder part of the winter. Before then, she'll be bundled in layers + fleece jacket or sweatshirt + hat + mittens for outings.
Re: what winter outerwear are you going to use?
It depends on what you'll be doing...

I got a bunting like this from TJ Maxx for $30. I live in Iowa though so i will need something pretty warm.

We have a JJ Cole Bundle Me for the stroller, as well as a one piece snow suit if we're out on walks, or just outside playing.
For the car just a heavy sweater, hat, mitts, and boots then cover her with a blanket and the "shower cap" weather cover over her carseat.
