Baby dropping

Typical conversation with just about everyone...

Them- "Looks like the baby getting ready! She's defenitely dropped. You'll have her soon!"

Me- ::dumbfounded look:: "Nope, she'll probably be another few weeks, she hasn't dropped."

Them- "Are you *sure*? Your belly looks so much lower..."

Me- "Yeah. I'm sure." :)

I'm so tired of people insisting that the baby has dropped. She hasn't. Seriously, not even a little. She's in perfect position--head down back on my left side and feet to the right. When her head finally does move on down, I'll know since I'm aware of my pelvic bone. I should hope the my boss, my friends, complete strangers in walmart all don't know what's up with my pelvis. UGh. Its just so frustrating and I don't feel like arguing but I can't help it if they are wrong.

Re: Baby dropping

  • This is exactly me and what I am going through! LO still hasn't dropped and I know she hasn't because I don't feel or look any different. On top of that, I received confirmation from my OB at my last appointment that LO had in fact, not dropped so she couldn't even tell me what pelvic station I was at. Needless to say when I walked into work that morning after my appointment, I still got comments like "Oh yeah... she's nice and low and looks like she's coming!" to which I just had to laugh and say "ACTUALLY according to my doctor, she's still comfortable and not even budged." I always tell DH if I had a dollar for everyone's 2 cents about my pregnancy, we'd be living next door to Bill Gates by now.

  • I know it! People say this to me all day and have been for weeks, finally she really did drop this week, my doc told me. Now everyone is saying "shes coming" I hope I haven't been this obnoxious to pregnant gals in the past.

  • Drives me nuts as well... But I just add it to the list of things I will never say to a pregnant girl in my lifetime now that I've BTDT with this LO... Kind of like... The girls TTC - I will never/have never told them to 'just relax'... Killed me to hear it (and I almost killed them for sayin' it!) :-)

  • Lol, I'm the exact opposite.  I know he has dropped (I can actually breathe, much more frequent urination, his feet and head are lower down than they were before), but people don't really seem to be able to tell because he was pretty low to begin with.
