  • People were shocked that I knew early on that I had a high chance of having a c/s.  They thought I was hoping for one.  DD was breech and we knew the chances were slim that she would turn because of a septated uterus.  The poor kid tried to turn, but my body just wouldn't allow it.  It had nothing to do with having a healthy pregnancy and everything to do with a mutation that happened 6weeks after I was conceived.

  • I dont give a F*** what anyone thinks! I am having an elective surgery because it's my vagina and if i say its an entrance only, then its an entrance only and thats mine and my husband's business, no one else's! My OB agrees that my hips are too narrow and I will likely have issues with dystocia and all the babies in my family have been breech anyway, and I hate the idea of having stitches on my vagina, so im gonna just avoid all the hassle and indignity and have a nice planned, peaceful, violence-free birth, just like my grandma did with my mother and her brother and sister and my momma did with all of us.
  • I've received some irritating comments lately as well, and what bugged me most about it was the fact that they came from my own grandmother!

My sister was having a vaginal delivery that was long and hard and my grandmother was reminding me that I was "lucky for taking the easy way out" with the C-section....  :-/

I guess people don't realize it is a major abdominal surgery with much pain, risk for further complications and a recovery period that makes it hard to care for and bond with your baby. I would never CHOOSE to have the c-section. In fact, I desperately wanted to have a vaginal delivery with my second son who is due in November, but my doctor told me I am not a good VBAC candidate and she fears I'd end up having an emergency C-section if I tried a vaginal delivery.
