TTC after 35

blood draws every morning for an injectable cycle????

What is this crap? I have to inject myself every day at 5 and go get injected to have blood drawn every morning at 7:30. Can I handle this?

Man - it is a good thing I've gotten over my fear of needles, but this still sucks. I am going to need major stress relief after all this poking and no wine.

Boooooooooo

  • Blood draws every morning? Wow. I only had blood drawn at my monitoring appointments, so 4 times total for the whole IVF cycle. I hope you have good veins!!

I did start to feel like a human pin cushion with all the injections, though. Hope you can find something to relieve the stress!

I know! I feel like that is so much. But it would be for about one week while I am actually taking the menopur.  I am going to confirm this with them tomorrow when I see them (this instruction was on a phone message), because this does sound pretty unusual.

    Ouch! Too many pokes!

  • I would double check on that. I had them only every other day, except for the last couple of days, with IVF. Also, I was told to wait until after my blood draw to do my a.m. injections.

    Good luck!

  • I did check with them and I do have to do them every morning next week by 7:30am. This sucks because I'll have to drive in traffic to get there and I am not a morning person. But they have to do it this way because they check the estrogen before 3pm and then tell me how many amps of Menopur I need to take that evening. It is a very individualized approach. Ugh.
