Can someone remind me what's normal for Braxton Hicks? Is it 4 per hour?
I feel like I'm having quite a few. Sometimes I'll have 3 or so within a 20 minute period but sometimes I'll not have them for hours (or at least no notice them for hours). I never had them with DS, so haven't quite figured out what to make of them yet.

Re: Braxton hicks
My Dr says 3 per hour to call in.
For me, if I have 3 in a hour but then it stops, I wouldn't call, but if i have 3+ per hour for at least 2 hours I'd call.
I started writing down the time every time I notice 1

Hmmmm. I sit all day. Wonder what you're supposed to do if you already are sitting quietly. I actually notice them less when I'm active.
I should probably call just to clarify what my provider's guidelines are

This exactly..I was paranoid and had my OB check a few weeks ago because I was getting an obscene amount of them, but I was sealed up and she was totally unconcerned. Guess it's more common and frequent the second time around? If I lay down, they usually go away. Super annoying though
I've had a lot this pregnancy too and I never had them with my first PG. They are the worst in the evenings. I know that I'm not having real contractions because I had my cervix checked (u/s) and I've had two fetal fibronectin tests in the past 3 wks (see post about $1000 bill for these tests).
That said, I was having a lots of BH last night and I just laid on my left side for most of the night and they went away.
I'm also confused on when to be concerned but since the BH contractions aren't painful, I'm probably on the rest/wait and see side of the debate. Hope that helps.
At my childbirth class last night, they said call the doc at 4/hour. They also said to walk around, change positions, stretch - and see if they go away. If they go away, you're good, if not or they get more frequent, call.
My doctor didn't give me a specific number to watch for. She told me if they don't stop when I sit down and drink some water to call her.
I have had WAY more with this pregnancy than with DS, but they always stop as soon as I sit down.
