So today after my 22 week appt with my regular OB....and he said lets schedule a section on 12/30 (when my due date is 1/3...and i wanted to be left alone until at least 41 weeks)....i said fine...walked to the front desk handed in my chart...walked down a floor to the other office...and scheduled a new pt visit.
I cant take the anxiety of dealing with that place anymore. SO i switched. Now the appt with the midwife is on the 14th...supposedly all the docs in the office are vbac friendly...now of course we all know what that could mean...that they string you a long and then insist on a section....but i certainly had enough of the previous office....
low and behold my phone rang at 230 from the old OB office to ask what happened....basically just said that my birthing needs and baby are a priority and not the schedule that the doctor keeps so i needed to find and office that better met those needs. thanks and bye
hoping that in two weeks i have a better experiance....if not then the search continues....thanks for all the help and i will keep you ladies posted on the midwife visit.....fingers crossed its a good visit.
PS after reading all the research/papers/ACOG sites etc...it seems that insisting on a RCS for a good VBAC candidate borders on medical malpractice....that is just another thought.

Good for you for scheduling with the other office! I read your other post and it sounds like this OB is a real jerk. No one should be saying things like that to a pregnant mama. Even when legitimate risks actually exist, why phrase things so sensationally? (not saying your situation is risky, just saying that even if it was, why would he choose to be so scary about it?) Be gone fear mongerer! I hope it goes well for you with the new office.
