Balance Check In

One of the 7 B's of AP is Balance. From Dr. Sears:"In your zeal to give so much to your baby, it's easy to neglect the needs of yourself and your marriage. As you will learn the key to putting balance in your parenting is being appropriately responsive to your baby ? knowing when to say "yes" and when to say "no," and having the wisdom to say "yes" to yourself when you need help."What have you done to maintain balance this past week?

Re: Balance Check In

  • DH's still working a ton of hours, especially since it's the end of the month, so I couldn't really get out by myself last week. I did have the house to myself for a few hours on Wed. though.

I've been napping with Ari most days or just resting. I should be doing housework but I've been tired. :)

ETA: Forgot  to mention that I did get to drop one chore - Ari is offically PL'd, so no more diaper laundry.

  • I decided I missed reading, so I made myself start a book and find time to read it. I finished "The Help" yesterday, and I'm so glad I made time to read it! It is so good. My mom and I are hopefully going to go see the movie this weekend.

  • DH and I are finally back in a good place. It was kind of tough after I had W. I had nothing left for DH after caring for baby all day. We've adjusted to being a family of three now, and it's SO much better. I feel balanced now!
