Gah!!!! Target registry

I know a lot of people have had problem with their registries last week, so I waited until this week to update, hoping that their problems would be resolved by now. Guess not! And, now their website runs super slow -- it takes forever to log in! Ugh!!

First of all, I created the registry through my amazon account, but now that is no longer a sign in option. I called and they told me to create a new Target registry and then call back and they will merge the two. I did that, and the guy on the phone said he merged the two and it was ready to go. I logged in this morning, but it still doesn't work. My registry is visible, but I can't delete or add things from my registry online because it isn't linked to my account. I put the some of the same stuff on the Target and BRU registries and have watched to see if something was purchased at one store and then delete it from the other store registry. We have a lot of family that does not have a BRU nearby, so I wanted to give our grandparents and older family members the ability to purchase gifts in a store since they don't buy things online. Now I'm thinking I might just print out my list, delete all the registries and just go to Target and scan it all again to a new registry. What a pain!

  • I just called Target and this person told me not to try to access the account for 72 HOURS. That would have been helpful to know yesterday!

  • I would call Target back and tell them you still are unable to manage it.  Once they merged mine, I was able to manage it within a few hours so I'm thinking the guy didn't do it right for you?  I also had started mine through my amazon account.

  • I gave up and just recreated mine yesterday.  My shower is this weekend so I've been getting annoyed calls from friends and family that they couldn't find it.  It was faster than dealing with customer service.

  • I sent them an email and they did nothing to help. Just told me sorry and that they'd pass the info on. The 2nd time I had an issue I sent a 2nd email. This time much harsher. I threatened to delete my registry all together. Still nada. I guess I should call them since that seems to have gotten more results to other ladies. Not liking the slower new site.

  • Honestly, it's their whole site that's messed up not just the registries so I am guessing they have A LOT to deal with and may not get it fixed for quite some time. I would say as long as people can access it just leave it alone. If you get duplicates oh well you can just go exchange stuff.

  • I went in to the store to see if they could do something there, but the customer service reps there call the same number that we do.  We waited on hold for a few minutes before I just said I'd call them tomorrow before work to get this resolved.

    Same issue as many here: started registry on Amazon account, registry is visible to friends/family, but I have no way of editing it.  The clerk at customer service said that the help desk is based out of India and you can call 24/7, so if you're stuck waiting on hold, maybe hold off on it until the next time you have insomnia.

  • I chose BRU and target for the same reason you did. Im not a fan of target registries. Ive been having trouble with it from the start.
  • Update: after being on hold for a half hour last night, I was told to make a new, blank registry and the customer service rep merged the two.  I checked it just now (~18 hours later) and everything looks right.
