Ordering Invitations From Costco ?

I have a pdf of an invitation I need to order, I've heard I can do so from Costco photo center. But I don't want the invitation to come out looking like a photo, KWIM? I don't want it to be shiny, I want it to have the feel of a card, like the invitations from tinyprints. Is that possible from Costco?

Re: Ordering Invitations From Costco ?

  • I don't think so.  :-(  Hopefully someone else will have better advice.  I printed invites at Costco a while back, and while they looked fine (matte finish), it was on photo paper and not the look I was hoping for.

I was in a pinch so I used Costco, but usually, I just print them out myself on cardstock and then cut to size using the paper cutter at Kinko's.  If you can print yourself, that's the best way to get the Tiny Prints look.  I haven't found an outside vendor that can do that for me so I DIY print.

  • Unfortunately, no. Whether you order it glossy or matte, the paper will not be heavy. My suggestion is Vista Print or Winkflash. What you want to select is a post card or see what options they have for heavy photo cards. Let's see what other post recommend.
  • I've had some invitations printed at Walmart before that came out on Cardstock.  I did it online and selected the cards, and they use to have a blank one that you can just add your image on.  It came with envelopes too.

Or I just send it to Copy Max (inside Office Max, you can do it online too) or you can try a Kinkos.

    Ditto.

  • No - costco only prints on photo paper (at least to my knowledge too). I also usually just print 2/page at staples or where ever and trim to size.  If I have enough time, winkflash.com has photo cards (also on photo paper).  You can upgrade on their site to their "premium" cards which come on cardstock.  Just make sure you plan for shipping as they can sometimes take over a week to ship out.

  • Thanks everyone. I am in a bit of a time crunch so i think i'll just print them at kinkos. Now i have to think about buying envelopes! Anyone know where I can get 5x5 envelopes? Or even 5x7 since i'm in a time crunch! I can't get to a paper source until saturday and would like to have them out before that. There used to be a paper store in sac but its closed.

    TIA!

They had lots of sizes of envelopes at the FedEx/Kinkos where I had our invitations printed.  Definitely 5x7, and maybe some 5x5 as well.  Hopefully you will get lucky and have one-stop shopping :)

  • They are expensive but Green Tangerines carries them.  They go through spurts though as to what colors they have.  Usually a package of about 8 or so.  But nice quality.  You might also call Joanns or Michaels - they also sometimes carry the.m

  • There are a few paper stores in Sacramento.....Pulp Papery on H and Alhambra...Paper Garden in Town & Country has more stamps than anything, but they carry Paper Source paper too, just call first if there is a specific color you are looking for. Also, try Xpedex or Kelly's on Vine off of 16th by the River, whenever I can't get to a Paper Source I get my stuff at Xpedex.

  • R - Pulp Papery is closed :(, or, they moved at its not by appointment only and is mostly just fancy invitation consultations.

But thanks for the Xpedex rec, never heard of them!
