Bf and birth control

I just had my 6 week appt. We discussed birth control. It makes me sad to get back on it - I have thoroughly enjoyed not being on it. But the other alternatives are less appealing. How soon did you start on birth control? What are you taking?

I'm on the mini pill and started at 6.5w. If you're not having sex yet you can certainly hold off. Or there are non-hormonal IUDs if you'd prefer that; and condoms are always an option too if you don't want to be on anything.

I didn't want an IUD or anything hormonal so we just chose to use condoms.  I also knew we would be TTC#2 within the next year or two so it was the easiest option and made the most sense for us.

I started the mini-pill at about seven weeks (it took me a week to get around to filling my prescription).  I was on the pill before getting pregnant, so I'm pretty used to it.  So far I haven't had any problems.

I got Paragaurd - the non hormonal IUD inserted at 8 weeks pp. Love it!
