2nd Ovarian Drilling

Hi all,

This is my very first post! Yeah! My husband and I have been married for nine years tomorrow and have two beautiful children. I have PCOS and both of my babies are Clomid babies. My youngest was conceived after Ovarian Drilling and a combination of Clomid and HCG to release the eggs and I was lucky enough to get pregnant on my first cycle. It took us almost three years to conceive our son. My oldest just started kindergarten and my princess is in her second year of preschool. We have always wanted a large family and decided to go for a third. I had my 2nd Ovarian Drilling on August 18th and after an up and down recovery (with two active kids around, hard to get the rest!) started Provera to force a period. I am on day six of the Provera and no period yet.

I am confident that this will work as well as it did the last time, but am a little worried that my period has not started yet. I am anxious to get the Clomid going (patience is not my virtue!).

The purpose of this post is to let those that have known PCOS to ask their fertility doc about Ovarian drilling. For those that don't know what Ovarian Drilling is, it is a simple outpatient laporoscopic procedure where the doc uses a cautery and "drills" holes in several different places on your ovaries. This allows the ovaries to drain the excess fluid that should not be there and promotes follicle development. Not exactly sure what happens to the cysts already in there, but they disappear.  I have used NCCRM for both my children and have had a lot of results with them. I have used the same doc every time and he is WONDERFUL. There are a LOT of medical people that have never heard of this procedure, so if you are using a OB/GYN to get pregnant, go to a fertility specialist.

Infertility has been incredibly frustrating for me, especially since our problems conceiving are 100% me. I hope I can help those that have not had success yet. Please know that even with fertility issues, you can still conceive and have a healthy, happy little one to hold in your arms! Don't give up hope.
