I am doing every thing through Salem Hospital and North Shore OBGYN.

     I love them there!

I just delivered at Beverly and can't say enough good things.  Essex County OB/GYN is the practice name....all of the Docs and midwifes are fantastic, I saw several over my pregnancy and they all handled my complications wonderfully.  DiLillo is the doc who oversaw everything for me.

I go to Andover OBGYN in Andover. It is located in doctors park just on the boarder of North Andover. I see doctor Radke. He is the greatest! He knows how to make you feel comfortable asking any questions and when you go in for visits he remembers everything that you have asked about or told him in the past and checks in. I highly recommend Dr. Radke at Andover OBGYN.

Thanks ladies!  I'm new to the area, so I don't really know which hospital is best in the area.  I know Brigham & Women's is the best, but it's a little too far.  Has anyone heard anything about Winchester?

I'm delivering at Winchester.  The staff there is so nice and helpful (since I now go every week for ultrasounds and non stress tests). I chose Winchester bc of the care my sister and friends got when they delivered there.

Brighams was my other choice, and this may be ridiculous, but I really want a private room (and Winchester is only 10 minutes away).

Thanks for the info.!  I think it would be nice to have a private room, too!  Can you suggest an OBGYN that is affiliated with Winchester?

With my first daughter (3 years old now) I lived in that area too. I went to Women's Health Care in Haverhill and they are affliated with Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. Beautiful hospital, very quiet. If I still lived in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to go back. The doctor's office had many doctors and I would highly suggest trying to get to know a few of their doctors. My labor was 19 hours so I got to see 3 doctors LOL! And the coolest thing about it was I had experience with all 3 of the doctors so I felt very comfortable. But my primary OB/GYN was the one that ended up delivering my daughter. Good luck with your search!!

I'm delivering at Winchester and am followed by Winchester OBGYN in Woburn. So far, everyone I've met at the practice and hospital have been fabulous. I met the L&D nurses a few weeks ago and feel confident about delivering there.

Thanks for all the great suggestions!  With all the great recommendations, I am still not sure what my best option would be.  Has anyone heard any news on the remote monitoring at North Shore Birth Center?  I have hears some great things about NSBC, but this makes me nervous.

I love it there.. The Doctors and Nurses are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. You get your own room right away and don't have to wait around in a double like most other hospitals.

ditto all of this, esp. Dr. Dillilo he's awesome.  I have heard horror stories about Salem from a few people.  Beverly is awesome and they have an amazing NICU just in case (my son was 6wks early and was there for 2wks).

Sorry, I forgot to say that I see Dr. Druga at Winchester OBGYN in Woburn.  I have met with most of the doctors and NPs so far, and they are all very nice, knowledgeable and friendly.

Another thing I like is that the lab for bloodwork is right down the hall and is very convenient to go get bloodwork after an appointment.

    Good luck making your decision.

My OBGYN is Dr. Bernard Logan in Medford.  He's been really good so far.  I plan on having the baby at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.  I love the fact the baby stays in the room with me!

I delivered at Winchester and had a great experience. The nurses were very nice and helpful. I had a private room. I see Dr. Rotter at obgyn's woman's clinic right in North Andover. She is a great doctor. The staff at the office are friendly and helpful. They have a lab tech on staff so you can do all your labs right there. All ultrasounds are also performed right at the office. Throughout my pregnancy, I only had to go to the hospital for the NT scan and a stage 2 ultrasound. Every other test, including an NST, were completed right at the office. The night my water broke, Dr. Rotter called immediately after I hung up with the after hours service. She instructed me go to the hospital and notified them that I was coming. She had just left the hospital, but she told me she would deliver my baby. She was in contact with my labor nurse and the hospital doctor all night and she arrived when I was ready to push. I was really glad to have the doctor that I had established a relationship with throughout my pregnancy be the doctor at delivery.

    hello!

not sure if you are still checking this post but i delivered in winchester in april and loved my experience there 0-- all my u/s there beforehand were fantastic too, just a very nice staff.  great nurses (especially the L&D nurses), great docs, nice rooms, etc.  i see dr. glen dixon in stoneham but dr. druga delivered me.  i can't say enough good things about either of them, esp. dr. dixon and his staff. dr. druga was great -- a wry personality and down to business attitude but i was fine with that!  many of my friends have delivered in winchester with all sorts of labors -- long, short, vaginal, c-sec, natural, etc., and everyone has had great experiences.

good luck with whatever you choose!

Sorry to reply so late to this, but I too used Dr. Rotter in North Andover and delivered at Winchester. DR. Rotter is wonderful as well as the staff at Winchester.
