UTI?

So I've been having some pretty regular cramping since saturday.  I've been figuring it was just growing pains and whatnot.  Finally just to calm me down i called my ob.  Now she wants me to come in!! She says its sounds like i could have a UTI. So I dropped off a specimen at the lab today, but they cant get me in to a provider until tomorrow.    and now i'm flipping out.  she said that if the cramps get any worse, to have a low threshold for calling, no matter what time of nite.

 

So. have any of you had uti's while pregnant? is this normal? a lot of cramping but nothing else really?  I mean, i've had them not pregnant and this is nothing like it.

i've had a UTI for 2 months (no lie, it just won't go away) and it is NOTHING like that! No cramps...i get the occasional lower tummy burning...sorta like indigestion but not. No cramps...I hope you feel better and its nothing serious!! T&P's!

I have, and I had a lot of cramping with mine.  It hurt worse when I stood up and sat down - I guess the added pressure was no bueno for the infection location.  I had no other symptoms that I usually get when I have them... urgency, burning.  I wouldn't worry if you have one, just take the meds and keep an eye on it.  It gets bad if it moves to your kidneys, because it can cause premature labor.

I haven't had cramping like that, but I ended up going to the ER for headaches and high blood pressure all to find out it was a UTI..... I have had UTI's not pregnant, and didn't even suspect it because I had none of the usual symptoms...

I have one right now! LOL And I had one once with my first pregnancy. I seem to be prone to them despite drinking tons of water and emptying my bladder often. I never have any "unusual" symptoms that let me know I have one - no burning when urination or bad cramping. They just find it when they test my urine every appointment. I'm in antibiotics now for 7 days to fix me up - so the solution is not that bad. I heard it is bad to let them go untreated. In the meantime while your doctor is running the tests I would just be sure to up your water and cranberry juice intake and be sure to use the bathroom often!

I get them all the time and never had cramping.. in fact my doc said you usually dont even know you have them during pregnancy as symptoms such as pain dont come during pregnancy thats why im on random urine checks.. make sure they arent getting worse or not going away if they are I would call doc. If not try and stay calm and wait for your results and appt. Hopefully its nothing!

I had one a couple of weeks ago.  I couldn't really tell, because I have to pee all the time anyway, and I didn't really get a burning feeling.  It just showed up in my urine when they checked.  I don't think it's a huge deal, unless it goes untreated and gets worse.  So they'll probably put you on antibiotics.

I just realized I started a post this morning titled "UTI's SUCK!....nft" and never posted it.

I have had one since Friday which was awesome (sarcasim font) since I got married on Saturday.  I called my nurse first thing yesterday morning when we got back into town and she told me to come in that afternoon.

I left a sample and sure enough I had a UTI.  They have me on 7 day antibiotics.  The full bladder feeling and horrific pain when a few drops come out has gone but I'm still not 100%.

If not treated you run the risk of a kidney infection and that is bad for the baby.  Get treated as soon as you can.

I'm on my second round of antibiotics for my UTI and I'm starting to feel back to normal, but not 100%. I hate the pressure on my bladder, but I think that's more baby than it is UTI now.

Well apparently I'm just a paranoid freakshow (my words, not theirs )

No infection, she did a quick check and cervix was fine.  HB was 160.  In other words, completely normal growing pains.  Ha. I'm so gonna pass my hypochondria on to this kid.
