How often do you apply CJs BUTTer?

I'm new to CDing and I have some samples of CJs BUTTer. I'm wondering if any of you use it as a preventative or only when LO has a rash? I've tried it on DS a few times and I love the way it makes his bum feel. I was thinking I could use it regularly to prevent chaffing. Any siggestions?

I have the stick and I apply a little bit on each cheek during each change.  I think it keeps his little tushie from getting red if he has his diaper on for a little while after he wets/poops during a nap or something. HTH!

Can I piggy back on this question?? I'm also wondering if people actually do allow it to touch the diaper or if they use a liner just to be safe. I know it is CD friendly, I'm just so scared to ruin anything that I feel like I want a liner anyway.

I just put it on and diaper - no liner, no issues.

DD tends to get little spots of eczema on her bum, so I use it during most changes.  Definitely before she goes down for nap/bed and after a BM.  A little goes a long way.

I asked a similiar question like a week ago and the consensus from all mama's that responded for me was....yes you can use it as a preventative and many do (I plan to also) and apply with each diaper change...and that no liner was necessary and there has been no repelling issues reported from using it without a liner.

I do about every other diaper change.

For example - always after a poop, every third pee and always before bed.

I do not use a liner and have not had any issues, though I use all natural inners so don't know how this works with micro fiber or the stay dry stuff in BGs and FBs.
