Ok someone help me out here. I just read a post on 6-9 about singing the wrong words to pat-a-cake and would like to know the right ones. This is how I sing it:
Pat-a-cake, Pat-a-cake, baker's man, bake me a cake as fast as you can, roll it and roll it, and throw it in the air, bring it back down and put it in my belly!
haha I'm such a douche but DS loves to do all the actions like throwing it in the air, rolling it, and shoving it in his belly. I don't think they'll keep him out of preschool if he doesn't know the correct words to pat-a-cake, but maybe I should learn them.
Anyone?
Re: Pat-a-cake ?
I am terrible with stuff like this. The other day DH said, WTH did you just say?!
I was singing Hush Little baby...
"If that looking glass get's broke, mama's gonna buy you an ARTICHOKE."
Thank God I'm not the only one!
I say
Pat-a-cake, Pat-a-cake, baker's man, bake me a cake as fast as you can, roll it and pat it, and mark it with a B. Then put it in the oven for baby and me.
I have no idea what's 'accurate' though.
I sing it almost the same except I sing
Pat-a-cake, Pat-a-cake, baker's men, bake me a cake as fast as you can, roll it and pat it, and prick it with an S. Then put it in the oven for Sawyer and me.
this is what i sing as well.
I do this, except patty-cake.
Thank God, I was begining to feel like a real dumb a**. lol
All of this!
nice catch! yes, "patty cake" is what we say.. lol i need to get more coffee.
Actually LOL'ed!! I needed that, thank you!
THIS! Except...
Patty-cake, Patty-cake, baker's man, bake me a cake as fast as you can, roll it and pat it, and mark it with a B. Then put it in the oven for baby and me.
This!
Yup, this is how we say it too, only "and THROW it in the oven for baby and me!". And we sing Hush little baby "If that looking glass gets broke, Mama's gonna buy you a billy-goat." No idea if that's close at all to what it's supposed to be.
A billy goat would be way cuter than an artichoke. I will switch my made up lyrics. lol
