Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Monistat 1 day- Has anyone had issues with it? Pos tmi, lol

I took the 1 day on Sunday night, aunt flo decided to join the party Monday (biitch) and today my lady bits are on FIRE!! ( I haven't had a crotch party like this in 20 years and I could have lived another 20 years+ without having another party like this too! Fvck)

I read on a review site that this burning can be common when using the one day treatment.

Anyone else go through this hell? If you did, how long until it went away.

TIA!!

  • My Dr advised me not to use the 1 day because it doesn't work.  He said the 7 day is he only one you should use.

  • I've never had that happen with Monistat...  GL with the firecrotch!   I find the only thing that helps is lots of baths and 'air drying' as much as possible...

  • Let me add I have used 7 day before and the 3 day. I thought maybe this time I would try 1 day because the others take so long. HAHAHA, crap, that didn't work.

Yes the blow dryer and fan are my friend today. Sometimes I hate being a woman.

No, man do I want to though. Diapers really, really suck.

Ok, I figured you were smarter than that, lol! I would deal with the burning today, but if it continues into tomorrow, I'd put a call into your doc to see what he/she suggests. There is a prescription pill called Diflucan (I believe) that they can prescribe for yeast infections. It's an amazing medication, lol!

Thanks Mama. I have actually used it a few times before. I love it, but the docs usually make you try the OTC stuff first, or did they change that?

I haven't had yeast infections for years and suddenly we moved from west coast to east coast and now I have had 3 in 5 months and I am 35 this year. I have read it can be hormones, bottom line this sucks bad!

I have a very good relationship with my OB (we have mutual friends and have been known to hang out together at BBQs, get togethers, etc., lol!) so I can usually get what I want when I call, lol! If this treatment doesn't work and you're experiencing multiple infections, then I'd definitely call and see what they can do for you. Let them know that you've tried OTC meds and that you've had several since moving. Hopefully, they'll have some answers/remedies for you.

A change in climate will do it.  When we lived in Beijing (very dry) every time we went on vacation in Thailand or the Philippines (very humid) I would get yeast infections.

  • The first time I had a YI I used the 1 day and the same thing happened to me.  It was horrible.  It was a long time ago so I can't remember how long it lasted.  I've used the 7 day ever since.

BelleIsa- Thanks for the info. It would appear I am doomed until the humidity goes away, aww crap. Dang I had no idea this is what could be happening.

Your body will adjust after a couple months, thankfully!

  • Lurker here... Just my 2 cents... IF you're being sexually active with your DH right now...have him use the cream on his area after showering for a few days too.  I kept getting YI over and over again... And then my OB suggested my DH be treated too and that help clear them up.  His skin folds can have the YI even after he showers and the only way to get rid of it is to use Monistant cream.  So whenever I get one I have him use the cream for a few days too.  It does not hurt him at all!!
