Two Under 2

1 thing I learned that I did right before I had 2u2

LO#1 was a boy, so I bought him clothes before he was born and of course after he was here. LO#2 is a girl, so I was happy to buy girly clothes for her. I was going crazy with the shopping and thought that maybe I had bought too much too soon. In hindsight, I'm glad I did. I got quite a few NB and 0-3 mos clothes way before she was due. Now that I actually have 2u2, I'm glad I did my shopping when I only had 1 child to care for. I don't think it will be as easy to tote around 2 kids trying to find clothes for my little ones...especially in the beginning.

So glad to be here in 2u2. I finally feel like my life is complete!  So happy and so in love!

  • Thanks for the insight and the inspiration! I keep telling myself that I won't buy as much for this one (a boy) as I did for the first (a girl).  Sounds like a good idea to go ahead and stock up on things when I see them available for purchase.  The part where you said that you feel like your life is complete and you are glad to be in two under two is very inspiring.  I have been feeling down off and on and emotional about how we're going to handle it when #2 arrives.  Thanks.

  • For me, stocking up wasn't good.

DD was very small.  She was in NB for a looooooong time.  She has run pretty much "true to size" (leaning on the small end) her whole life.  So when I bought things for DS I thought he would need winter clothes in 0-3, then start with some lighter stuff in 6M size.

    Wrong.

He was 9 pounds 11 ounces and was in NB for about 5 minutes.  Now as a 9 month old he is in 18-24 months.  He barely wore his 0-6 month clothes.  It would have been a huge waste of money for me to "stock up" (or a huge pain to not only have to go shopping, but return things too).

You just never know.  My DD and DS are the same weight right now.  I would have never imagined htat in a million years.

    My advice: online shopping.

  • my little guy was a chunk!  he never fit newborn.  he was out of 0-3 months by the end of the first month!  i have so much clothes that he was never able to wear.  maybe #2 will get some use out of them!  guess its a tricky game to play!  but i cant imagine shopping with a newborn and my lil guy!  definitely not trying that without daddy!

I'm afraid this will happen to us. DD was 6 lbs when she was born and has been pretty averaged size. DS is estimated at 6 lbs right now and tracking toasted huge.

  • Stocking up didn't work for me either. DS was a tiny guy, and still is. DD is big. Love online shopping, Amazon Prime is a lifesaver!
