Opinion of this girl name?

After months of trying to decide on a girl name with no success, we finally just gave up and decided to name LO when she comes out. So we completely stopped talking about names for about 2 months. Last night my DH came downstairs and randomly gave me a name that he thought of: Taylor Johanna.

Taylor was a name we have thrown around since we found out it was a girl and both like it. My grandmothers name is Jo so i wanted to include it, and this is a nice way of doing it without it sounding country-like? The name flows well with our last name....

what do you ladies think? Because i had my heart set on the name Emery (which my DH HATES) its hard for me to move on, even though i know we wont be naming her Emery because i want us to choose a name we both like.

honest opinions please?

Re: Opinion of this girl name?

  • I don't personally love Taylor, but I do prefer it to Emery. My favorite of the names you've mentioned is Johanna. I think it's versatile and pretty and not overly popular: plus it has special significance. I'd go with Johanna Taylor, but Taylor Johanna is okay.

Sorry your husband vetoed your favorite, btw :-( That sucks. But I think it's definitely a better move to go with a name that both of you really like.

  • I think I like Taylor a little better than Emery, more so because it's something you and your DH both like.  My name is Joanna, so I'm a little biased on the mn ;)  I mostly go by "Jo", like your grandmother. When I was little I wished I'd been name a more popular name of that time, like Jessica (my sister), or Katherine/Caitlin/Cathryn, etc., but I love my name now and the versatility of it: Jo - socially and Joanna - professionally.

Hope you guys find something you love.  We're also still undecided on a name for our little girl - hoping we think of something when we see her ;)

  • I like it Smile very pretty!  I think it would make it easier if you have something that you and DH both agree on.

  • To be honest, before we knew we were having another little boy, I thought the name Emery was so pretty.  With that said, I also like the name Taylor.  Johanna is a pretty name for a first name or middle name.
