"Bumpy" Monday morning exchange with a guy at work

So, how's your Monday going? Mine started like this after I came into the office...
Guy I work with (not on my team) seeing me in the hallway: Are you going back to your desk?
Me: Yes
Guy: Ok, I have pictures, I'll come over
Me: Ok!
....
Guy (at my desk): ?I have some pictures of my little girl (note, I used to work with this guy in another group at the same company years ago and know his kid but haven't seen her in like 5 years)
Me: Great!
Guy (looking up, seeing two "it's a boy" balloons at my desk from last week's shower): You're expecting?
Me: (smile), (nod), (rubbing my tummy)
Guy: I had no idea!!
Me: (quizzical look, more tummy rubbing) (I'm not usually a tummy rubber, btw)
Guy: Oh, I thought that was just your "normal" (English is not this guy's first language, but I get what I think he meant!)
Me: (in my head) WTF?


Seriously, I think I passed the "is she fat or pregnant" stage months ago...

I got that from a parent at my school a few weeks back. I was like, "Seriously? How do you NOT see this thing?!" (I didn't really say that, I just thought it!). People are oblivious sometimes...

All I can say is WOW....is this guy a dummy?  I know it is at your expense, but that is kind of funny.  Some guys can be so dumb.....

I can't believe he didn't put two and two together by now, but I think most men are really afraid of assuming pregnancy. I predominantly work with men and most of them were super relieved when I confirmed it to their faces, like, "oh I thought so but I was afraid to say anything." I just always thought it was really funny that they were so worried about it.

I was at the beach with DD last week (in my bathing suit).  Another mother asked me if we ever thought having a sibling for DD.  Really? Though about it? Im pretty sure we are waaay past that stage.  I think some people are just really scared to assume.
