Long Luteal Phase? Or problem? And a BFN

This is my first month charting. I'm at 17DPO today. Yesterday, I was looking up LPs in TCOYF and it mentions that they are 10-16 days. If AF does not come today (I've had NO symptoms of her coming), then that means that my LP is at least 17 days... and counting. 

Is this normal?

 I should also add that I had a BFN this morning. 

TCOYF also mentions that 18 days of high temps almost always indicates a pregnancy. It mentions it so often, that the author assumes one to be KTFU as soon as she reaches day 18 of high temps.

Is it possible that you ovulated later than you think?

I don't think so. My chart seems pretty clear about it, although this is my first month temping. FF put my O date on the day that matched up with my CM and OPKs, so I really don't know.

I think its very unlikely to have this long of a LP without a BFP so I'm leaning towards you O'd later that FF thinks.  Maybe a temp error?  You had a lot of open cycles, so it doesn't seem real clear.

Your chart is a hot mess, which is why you have dotted CH's. With all those open circles, there is no telling when you ovulated (though I am guessing its somewhere between CD21-24). Did you stop recording CM because you thought you Oed, or have you not had any CM?

DH got a new job that requires him (and so me, too) to get up an hour earlier. That was a few weeks ago now, but it still gives me open circles even though I temp that same time each day. It's just not the same time as it was during AF in this cycle.  

Perhaps you are right. I'm just not sure why my OPKs and CM went with it... but who knows. A 17 day luteal phase just doesn't seem possible anyway. and I have a BFN, so it can't be right on my O date.

Did you change the default time?

You have quite a few open circles and dotted CHs.  So FF isnt 100% confident you Od when it says.  So you might have Od later.  Give it a few more days.

FF has given you dashed CHs so that means that it's not sure about your O date.  You do have a lot of open circles so I'm not convinced that your O date is right.

it's very possible you are only 9-10dpo.    Way too many open circles on that chart for anything to be considered "accurate"

If you are absolutly certian that you are in fact over 18 DPO, then call you ob/gyn and see what they reccomend.

A long LP can be sings of a progerstone issue or a luteal cyst. A long LP isn't always a bad thing, though, and it can actually be benefical as it gives the egg more time to implant.

But, you said this is your first month charting, so I wouldn't worry just yet. I'm 21 DPO today...lame...and I'm not worried yet. If I don't get AF or a BFP by the end of the week, then I'll call. It's very frustrating, so I can empathize with ya on this one. (FWIW, FF says I should test again b/c I 'might be pregnant' and that I should 'consult my heathcare provider'...haha)
