I have read that it is almost impossible to get cat urine out of carpet, but I'm hoping somebody might know of a way. We got our carpet in June and our cat has taken to peeing in certain places. I have scrubbed and scrubbed and I can still smell it. Any ideas?
Nature's Miracle. Air out the house if you can. I've never had cat pee (sorry, can't stand cats) but we had a dog with a bladder infection a few years ago. Use a blacklight to go over the room in the dark, and drench each spot in NM. Let it dry without being touched for as LONG as you can, preferably a couple of days. Clean the carpet in a steamer with vinegar.
Covering it up with perfumed stuff truly makes it worse.

I've never tried Nature's miracle but I've had great luck with vinegar and baking soda. Fill a spray bottle with 3 parts water, 1 part vinegar and soak the area where the cat peed. Then heavily sprinkle baking soda over the area. The baking soda will soak up the water. You can actually see the pee come up. Then once its dry vacume it up.
