My puppy was super cuddly the night I miscarried. She normally follows me all over, but she was glued to my leg when I kept getting up to go to the bathroom and when I laid back down in bed, she couldn't snuggle close enough.
There was a post about kids "knowing" a few days ago. I think pets somehow "know" too. It's amazing how comforting they can be when you need it the most. It's like a 6th sense they have.
I hope your day back to work is uneventful. Good luck to you! ((hugs))
I definitely think that pets 'know' when things aren't quite what they are. Our dog, Roxie, was super protective of me when I was pregnant... she was always by my side when she normally follows my hubby around.
After my loss, I was in bed for a couple of days and she just curled in next to me, would put her head on my stomach and just stay there for hours.
Best of luck on your first day back to work, it was tough for me but has gotten easier s the days have gone on.
My cat was super cuddly to me when I was pg - it was ridiculous - she was laying on me non stop. However she has flat out ignored me since the m/c. Sigh.
That's adorable...I'm a little teary-eyed right now thinking that our loving animals are really there for us in our times of need. We lost our baby recently, and I've sought a lot of comfort in our two dogs. I'm very sorry for your loss, though
My cats sensed there was something wrong with me. They gave me much comfort (and still do). Especially my younger kitty coz she is my "baby".
As for work. I couldn't wait to go back, but I also dreaded it. Not to mention I don't get paid time off, so I needed to go. But I was afraid people would ask "how I'm feeling" not knowing I miscarried. But I've talked about it so much, it's just easier to deal. It's incredible finding out how many people have gone thru something similar. The only thing I've noticed is my patience/tolerance is low.
My cats could have cared less that I was pregnant (it's summer in the south- it's not like they needed the extra warmth)- but when I started to miscarry the one that's a lot more shy and less likely to want to be near humans curled up with me and was my little shadow for a couple of days. It was very sweet and I appreciated it. The friendlier one (who's been my best buddy for over a decade) took back over as my shadow when the shy one decided I was going to be okay.
