**3T Weekly Check-In**

***Hey ladies, I hope anyone in the path of Irene is staying safe. Let us know how you are doing. In other news, I?m getting so excited about the lows starting to get into the 60?s. It means fall is coming!!**

~If you would like to be added, please answer these questions in a post below:

1) What is your name (if you want to share)?

2) When did you start TTC (month/year)?

3) What is your diagnosis, if you have one?

4) What treatments have you done?

If any information I have listed needs changed or if you want anything added please be sure to let me know so I can update. Good luck, everyone!!

QOTW: Just curious since there has been a LOT of bad weather hitting all over the country lately, have you been in any severe weather (recent or otherwise)? How did you prepare and what happened?

  • #1 - Megan #2- 01/11#3- PCOS, Dx in 2010#4- Clomid 50 and 100mg, HCG trigger and 3 HGC boosters Living in Washington state I deal with lots of rain but nothing like what the east coast is getting right now. Flooding is probably the biggest problem around here. I always make sure we have lots of food and water, battery operated radios and have our cell phones and work phones/pagers charged due to weather usually making MH and I get emergency called back to work. Hope everyone on the east coast is doing okay. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  • Hi Zook!  Glad with your new roof, you were able to dodge this bullet.  Hope all of those in Irene's path are safe & sound without too much damage.  I have to say that's one good thing from FB - I've been getting updates from NC up to NJ from friends and family.

QOTD:  The only extreme weather to report in Chicagoland was the storm we had mid July that dumped 7 inches of rain in one night (a record for us) causing area flooding and a few extra days in the upper 90's then we're used to.  But looking forward to fall!

Update:  Still not heard yet on DH's possible promotion...hopefully by Wednesday? But we're leaning towards if he gets it to still wait until Jan. to cycle to pay off as much debt as humanly possible so that after treatment we can start saving for a down payment on a house for this little family we're fighting to have.  Now that it's "only" a wait of four more months it doesn't seem like the end of the world TTC wise.

  • No real changes for me, I am currently one day into my 2ww after IUI #2.

QOTW: Just curious since there has been a LOT of bad weather hitting all over the country lately, have you been in any severe weather (recent or otherwise)? How did you prepare and what happened?

The only really bad weather I have been caught in was a tornado when I was about 5, I remember very little as I was hiding under a bed with the neighbors dog! I do still have the aftermath images clearly in my head (mosly the tree laying in my bed with my teddy bear).

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Update: 6dpiui #5 hoping for my miracle.QOTW: When I was camping in the Badlands there was a tornado right on the other side of the mountain. We had to put down our camper and the entire campground had to huddle in the lodge until it passed.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Updates: Estrogen came back in the mid 100's Friday, RE says I'm stimming "perfectly." I go for another e2 check tomorrow and hopefully IUI#6 Wednesday or Thursday.

QOTW: The worst weather we have is a plethora of lake effect blizzards in the winter. We're so used to it by now that we just go about our business. I takes like, two feelt of snow and ice for schools to even cancel. *sigh*

  • It's been a busy week for me with ER and ET - so right now I am PUPO!!!  Not sure yet when I'm going to test - right now I'm telling myself I will wait until labor day.  But I am a POAS addict - so I have a feeling I will not make it that long.  I want this to work more than anything....even one day into the 2ww I know that the IVF 2ww is so much harder than the IUI 2ww.  I made a list of things I want to do - so I am going to keep myself as busy as possible and my mind off of the fact that I have 2 embryos (hopefully growing) inside of me.

    Oh....and PIO SUCKS!

QOTW:  Living in Buffalo - we have our fair share of bad weather.  One of my favorites was 'Storm 2000' - I was in college and we got 24 inches of snow in 24 hours - but it was fun when you have booze and good company!  We also had a really bad 'October' storm - which was once of the worst in recent memory - icing and tons of trees down and damage and power outages.  Honestly though I keep my pantry and fridge pretty well stocked all year long - so I rarely run out to stock up on bread and milk b/c I can get by a day or two w/o it.  Also we rarely lose power for that long - I did have to get dry ice during that October storm though.  Even though we have a few bad snow storms every few years - I think it is nothing compared to a hurricane, massive flooding or tornadoes - I'll take a blizzard any day!   I hope everyone affected by the hurricane is doing ok.

  • ~If you would like to be added, please answer these questions in a post below:

    1) What is your name (if you want to share)? Jaimee

    2) When did you start TTC (month/year)? Way back in 2009

    3) What is your diagnosis, if you have one? Poor egg quality due to paracentric inversion on chromosome 2.

    4) What treatments have you done? Gonal-f, cetrotide, HcG- all for the first time this cycle

QOTW: Just curious since there has been a LOT of bad weather hitting all over the country lately, have you been in any severe weather (recent or otherwise)? How did you prepare and what happened?

  • Just took Day 1 of my Clomid. Will start monitoring on Friday.

QOTW: Just went through Irene - had tons of water on-hand, as we have a well. Had some damage to our siding and lost power for awhile, but that's about it. Went through Isabel a few years ago - that one was scary, and spawned a tornado in our area. Finally, the worst weather by far was Snowmegeddon, where my town received 40+ inches in a two day storm. Can't even describe how scary that one was.

  • Update:  New dx of "ongoing testicular failure."  Which means that we have to act fast.  We have three appointments scheduled for mid-September -- SA, RE, Uro, so I guess we'll figure out our plan of attack then.

QOTW:  Ummm, I grew up in San Diego where it's 70 degrees and sunny year-round, and then moved to northern California where at least it rains!  I've been through earthquakes, but never extreme weather.  I hope everyone in Irene's path is staying safe.

Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.

IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.

QOTW:  I grew up in FL so I have been through my share of hurricanes.  We just went through Irene in VA as a Cat. 1 but she really wasn't that bad.  We just stock up on water, bread, sandwich meat that kind of thing.  Other than that we had the earthquake in VA which was a new thing for me since we have moved.

  • Update: I'm in the 2ww from IVF #3!!  We transferred 2 2-day embryos after assisted hatching this past Wednesday.  I have more than a week to wait for results.  I'm hoping I don't go crazy!  And, praying that third time is the charm!

QOTW:  Living in the mid-west, I was in a few tornadoes as a kid.  But, you don't get a lot of notice.  We weathered one in our basement.  We weathered one at a friend's house.  This past year, we had a couple of tornadoes hit just north of us and one just south of us.  But the most scared I have been was watching as a tornado hit Joplin, MO.  Which is where my sister and her family lives.  They were lucky.  But, a lot of the town and some friends were not.

  • No big update here. Just waiting to meet with RE on Sept 15 to get a plan in place. QOTW: We had huge blizzard in Illinois back in Feb. We couldnt leave the house for four days. We live in a rural area so it's the last place snow plows visit. We have also had three bad thunderstorms this summer. First one two tornadoes touched down within 20 miles of us and the latest one a couple weeks ago we had 13 inches of rain. Glad to hear that Irene has not caused too much damage and sounds like you are all safe!!

  • Update:  Nothing really, I am supposed to have my phone consult tomorrow with my RE to go over the test results she ran after my last c/p.

QOTW:  We did not get hit with the latest bad weather this weekend, but we had some very heavy rain last week and 4 people died from a flash flood, as a result.  We have also had some big snow storms and other bad flooding here over the years.  A micro-burst and a small tornado also, but no serious ones and we are too far inland to receive much effect from any hurricanes.  We are pretty lucky here.

  • Hey Zookie!  Thanks for updating my diagnosis.  I have my post-op on Friday to see what our next steps are.  I'm really anxious to talk to my RE.

QOTW:  Well, I've lived in Southern CA most of my life, so I can't really say I've dealt with extreme weather.   When it gets below 60 or above 90 I consider that extreme.  Hehe, j/k!  I really hope all you East coast ladies are staying safe!

  • No updates on me. Patiently waiting for my husband to do his SA.

QOTW: Just curious since there has been a LOT of bad weather hitting all over the country lately, have you been in any severe weather (recent or otherwise)? How did you prepare and what happened? No bad weather here. but we are in north florida so we are used to bad weather and hurricanes.

we are prepared year round for bad storms

    Hope everyone is safe.

As for weather, I'm with Hootie out in Buffalo- our only real problem is freak blizzards, but luckily we pretty much know how to deal so it usually ends up okay.

  • Update:  We are impatiently awaiting the results from DH's Uro appointment last Monday.  They are running a f/u SA, staining for white blood cells, and cultures for WBCs. We have a follow-up appointment on Sept. 19th.  We are hoping if anything shows up, they will start treatment right away.  I go in for my first RE visit at the end of the week.  I'm hoping I will know more about DH's results by then.

    QOTW:

I grew up living near the Texas coast, and my parents both grew up knowing what it was like to live through a hurricane.  Consequently, when a storm looked like it would hit, we would evacuate farther in-land.  Ike was the first hurricane that I had ever been through.  Dh and I stayed in our apartment during the storm.  We had some minor wind damage to our building and luckily our cars weren't under any fallen trees.  We lost power for 8 days.

Since Ike, we have bought a house. (Our house got a new roof, courtesy of Ike.) We have all of the plywood needed to board our windows, and a generator that will run fans and a fridge.  As long as the forecast is a Cat 2 or less, we would most likely shelter in place.  Higher than that, we would stay with family farther in-land.  During hurricane season I keep plenty of bottled water on hand and restock our batteries, non-perishables and first aid supplies.

  • Hey ladies! Nothing new to report yet, we are meeting with my RE tomorrow afternoon to discuss doing another IUI vs. moving on to IVF.  (For financial reasons.)

QOTW:  Other than the recent hurricane, the only extreme weather I've seen is a couple of snow storms. We didn't do much to prepare for this hurricane, but maybe we should have. Our basement is flooded, a tree is down on our street blocking one end of the street and our electric has been out all day. We're staying with my MIL until it's back on.

    4. We are currently on our 3rd IUI attempt.  IVF is the next step most likely.

QOTW: We actually have been pretty lucky here in the Chicagoland the last week or so.  We have definitely had our share of severe storms but nothing too serious.  Thinking about all you ladies in the storm path.

  • East coast friends are in our thoughts & prayers tonight!

QOTW: Yes. When I was around 10 years old we were flooded into a small area in the Texas hill country, called Leakey. It took three days for the water to go down enough for us to get out. Very scary! I remember waking up and seeing the river (usually around 300 feet away from the house) at our door, and watching a mid-sized shed go floating down the river.  Update: We have a treatment plan! We had our RE visit on Friday and they cannot find anything wrong. The plan is to do a 50 mg clomid + trigger + IUI + Progesterone this cycle. Today is cycle day 1 so we I will start on clomid this week!  Hope everyone has a good (or at least painless!) Monday.

  • Update: in the midst of IVF#1, ET on Tuesday. Beta will be 9/8 but I will certainly test before then. I just can't help myself.

QOTW: weather in Seattle is pretty mild. The only "severe" weather would be any snow. I mean ANY snow. We can't handle snow here. Mostly because of the hills but also because people drive like idiots. So when they forecast snow, we all use it as an excuse to stay home from work.

QOTW: Us Californians have it pretty easy when it comes to weather. We have earthquakes and sometimes a good downpour or lighting & thunder, but that's it. Nothing significant that I can recall.

  • Not much new to report, just waiting for AF.

Living in Michigan it's always the white stuff that gets us, and the lake effect makes it ten times worse! I can remember a time in college when classes were cancelled and there was snow up to my car door handles... Eek.

  • Hey Zook!

Update: Today is day 5 of estrace supassatories. My boobs hurt and I feel like crap but I'm just hoping it's all worth it in the end. 10 more days to go until my u/s & b/w. I have only been doing a 1/2 a tablet am & pm. I start a whole tablet tomorrow. I'm hoping the side affects don't get worse.

QOTW: Just curious since there has been a LOT of bad weather hitting all over the country lately, have you been in any severe weather (recent or otherwise)? How did you prepare and what happened?

We had a bad hail storm and tornado in the spring. We really had no idea it was come so we had not time to prepare. We had minor damage we lost our pool liner and a sky light in our bathroom. We were lucky!

  • Update: Still waiting on AF, DH goes in for his 2nd SA on Wednesday, it will be the 1st since his sugery so I'm anxious and curious.  Haven't seen an increase in sex drive so I'm concered his Low T hasn't been affected.

QOTW: I felt the earthquake, and I sort of slept through Irene.  We prepared by filling a bucket or two with water, and buying some snacks.  We lost power for a while but no damage to our house or yard.

Not much of an update - I'm just starting IUI cycle # 3 with injectables.

QOTW:  We felt tremors from the earthquake last week and we were hit by the hurricane yesterday.  There wasn't much damage directly around us, but we are without power and might be for up to a week.  But of course, my office does have power so I will be working.

  • Update: IVF #1 was a big fat fail. We meet w/ RE on 9/8 to talk about IVF #2 and what went wrong w/ the first cycle.

QOTW: Never really been in real severe weather. Irene hit over the weekend and that earthquake last week was pretty crazy. But other than that the only other severe weather i can think of was hurricane floyd.

  • Not much to update.  Lap is scheduled for September 29th so I'm just hanging out until then.

QOTW - I'm in MN and we get some pretty nasty thunderstorms.  I always make sure the tub is filled with water, I have a flashlight, weather radio, and both dogs and we bunker down in the basement.  I've been lucky that the most damage we've ever had from a storm was a few down trees and a shed door that blew away.

    TTC since 2010

lots of IUIs and 1 IVF all BFNs

    FET currently on hold

  • Not a whole lot to report.  No new treatments other than losing weight.  My temperatures have leveled out a lot the last cycle and the start of this cycle.  All my annovulatory cycles my temps have been all over the place from CD1.  I?m hoping this means that the 16 pounds I?ve lost and the diet change is helping.  DH and I are going to talk tonight and see if we want to go to a fertility center and start looking at our options there even with the risks I have with the use of fertility meds.  My little brother who is highly educated on what can be bad for our genetic disorder says don?t chance it.  I am leaning the same way but may ask to talk to the doctors he is seeing for the gene study he?s in.

QOTW: Just curious since there has been a LOT of bad weather hitting all over the country lately, have you been in any severe weather (recent or otherwise)? How did you prepare and what happened?

I?m in the Pacific Northwest and summer has finally arrived!  I have been enjoying the sunshine.  I hope everyone is surviving the weather on the east coast.
