DH Vent - he should try being PG! long

So today at work I created my auto-reply e-mail message saying I'd be out from 10/31 through 1/12 on maternity leave, etc.?

I e-mailed it over to DH just to make sure it was professional sounding and grammatically correct. He comes back to me with "What do you mean your last day is 10/31? I thought you were working til the last minute? And you're not going back til January 12th? That's along time to be home, don't you think?" - it's a total of 10 weeks.

Background: This is our 2nd baby. I work (full time) for a small company with no maternity leave policy and all my leave is completely unpaid. I've been here for 7 years - so I was here during my 1st pregnancy as well - same rules applied. With DS, I took off 11 weeks - 3 weeks before (due to Pre-E) and 8 weeks after.

DH and I have discussed my last day and my return date before, and he never expressed concern. Not only that, but I've been super uncomfortable, I don't sleep at night which makes it hard to function during the day, I can barely drive because the steering wheel is IN my belly (I have short legs and can't reach the pedals unless my seat is all the way up). I figured making my last day 10 days before my EDD was a pretty good time to stop working. My pregnancy has been easy and uneventful- no complications whatsoever. But COME ON! I come home to my almost 4-yr old, make dinner, do the laundry, shopping and other chores. I'm freakin' exhausted.

Tell him that if he wants you to take a shorter time off, then he needs to get off his lazy arse and help you out more!

Umm... Tell him to get the F over it. If he wants you to work up until you go into labor than he needs to cook, clean, do laundry and take car of your toddler.

Ugh, this sounds like something my DH would say too (probably has and I chose to ignore him)............come on!  I do think they should give this whole pregnancy and birth thing a go before commenting!
