Anyone else with a +fFN?

I spent two days of my vacation in labor and delivery for bad cramps and contractions.  They ran all kinds of tests and my fFN came back positive.  Ugh!  As a high risk OB nurse, I know that this does not mean that I will definitely go into full blown labor prematurely, but this does complicate things.  I was discharged and have been taking it easy (as easy as you can when you have a 3 yo) but every little contraction makes me nervous.  I have an appointment Monday with the backup doctor for the midwives, so hopefully will get a plan then.  I hope I have not dilated more (was 1 cm) and can continue to work.  It will not be ideal to be on bedrest this early in the game.

Anyone else in a similar boat?

Re: Anyone else with a +fFN?

  • Actually, my fFn came back negative yesterday but there is still a concern because my cervix length has shortened from 3.6cm to 2.5cm (baby boy is dropping fast). I am 25 weeks. They are going to give me another transvaginal ultrasound in a week to see if he has dropped anymore.

I am so sorry to hear that yours was positive. Just try to stay calm and remember that babies are survivors, they will do what they have to do to make it. Put your feet up for awhile (if you can) and take it easy. That's what I keep telling myself.
