Wanna announce baby #2 at DS 1st birthday party! Any ideas on creative ways we can announce it? I will be 20 weeks and we've told no one yet(hope my mom doesn't get mad)!

You could hand out cookies as favors that are pink or blue, you could do a little gender cake (or make DS's smash cake a gender cake), you could have DS in his birthday outfit but then change him into a "big brother" shirt after he gets cake all over himself, you could think up a party game that somehow reveals that you are expecting, you could make "save the dates" for #2s 1st birthday party in 2013...
I'm out of ideas .

Well, if you are set on announcing it at ds birthday you can have him open a big brother shirt (toys r us or babies r us has some if no time to order one off esty) or open a frame with the ultra sound pic or something like that.....I would keep it simple.
*If it were me I would just celebrate the 1st born birthday not baby #2. But if you are 20 weeks you are showing so I guess share the news.
People may have options about baby #2 (which is fine and who cares what people say) but you may not want to deal with all that on your child's birthday which is their day.....to me.
I hate that silly gloaming feeling what the Mother's & Mother In Laws may say. It scared me to tell them even as a married adult - we found out we were pregnant again when our 1st was 6 months old....
Fwiw, I was about 20 weeks pregnant when my DD turned 1 and I was REALLY showing. Like, there was no way we could have hidden it that long. My body was like "oh yea, we just did this" and BAM I was showing at like 10 weeks. I struggled to hide it until 13 weeks at work. We considered doing a gender reveal at DD's birthday party (since we had just found out) but decided to keep it all about her.
I also agree with PP that you want the first birthday to be about your 1 year old and not overshadowed by #2.
But good luck either way! I think there are some classy ways to announce toward the end of the party that won't take the attention away from your birthday boy.
