Child Support

I'm asking for a friend, but what is a ballpark amount of child support that would be appropriate to receive for one child? TIA!

Not sure if it matters or is relevant, but the child is 2 years old. The mother is 25, doesn't work and lives at home with her parents and is attending school toward a degree. The child doesn't go to daycare as he stays with family (the grandparents, etc.) when the mother is not able to care for him. The father has the child staying with him for 3-4 days a week. Thank you!

Re: Child Support

  • It depends on many things. You can Google child support calculator for your state to get a fairly accurate estimate based on income and child-related expenses like daycare and insurance.

  • Thanks, ShanJosh! I didn't know about the calculators, but I found one thanks to you. Thanks for your help!

  • Also if the father has the baby 3-4 days per week, that's pretty much 50% custody so she may get little to no child support money.
