Rec your video monitor

I've decided I want a video monitor (I had the angelcare, but I'm too scared of false alarms to use the pad, I don't want to freak me out or wake up LO) I sold my angelcare for 15 dollars less than I paid.

 My friend has the sumer infant slim one and loves it - but toys r us and another baby store here have different models ranging from $179 to $300.  I can't decide which one to buy.  Part of me just wants to spend the 250 my friend did because she's so happy - yet none of the reviews are amazing.

 Do you have one and love it? Or have feedback?  Thanks! (I have to decide soon and go buy one today, as I've already packaged up my old one to mail).

I've had the Summer Infant Day/Night and it wasn't digital. We had interference with our neighbors so when I needed a 2nd camera, I bough the Lorex. I absolutely love it. Way more than the Summer. 

Features it has that the Summer didn't:

Ability to handle 4 cameras. This is nice, because I have a 3rd camera set up in our basement play room so I can leave DS down there to run up and tend to DD or cook dinner or whatever and still keep an eye on him.  

It will cycle through the cameras, meaning you don't have to toggle back and forth. On the Summer, you have to toggle. Right now since Cece is sick, and my DS keeps getting out of bed, I have it cycling through so if one of them makes noise, I hear it without having to wake up and actually look at the monitor.

It's digital. The Summer wasn't. The Slim & Secure model is but I've heard issues with it messing with wifi since it runs on 802.g or whatever you call it. lol

Anyway, if you can get your hands on the Lorex, I say go for that one.

I bought the angelcare video monitor. Its normally $300 but i used my 20% off and my %10 registry completion. I paid around $230.

It has a pad/color video/walkie talkie/ room temp.... and its touch screen... I think its bad a$$. I havent had any false alarms.

We have this one from Summer Infant that I LOVE https://bit.ly/oEk5ks  I think we paid $180 but now it's a little cheaper ($150).  I read several complaints about the $250 version so we didn't get it.  Plus, when you can get the same job done for $100 cheaper...why not?

We really love ours, haven't had any problems.  No interference and there are several babies on our street who all use the same one.

ETA: We have WiFi at home and no interference with that.  I plug it in overnight once maybe every 3-4 weeks or so.  We're only using one camera so no adviceon that.

I also have an Angelcare & I've never used it. I  need to sell it.  Did you use Craigslist?

I put the ad on craigslist and I put it on my feed on facebook.  I had someone contact me from craigslist within an hour, but then backed out (she was looking for her daughter), and then someone on facebook knew someone looking for one.  

It definitely helped that I was selling it for 85 dollars.  We got it on sale for 100, so I was fine listing it at that price to get rid of it.  I made a deal with DH that I had to sell it before I bought the video one.

Supposedly there is technology coming out for this product that will allow you to watch your baby (securely, of course) through a smart phone, ipad, etc. It's was supposed to be released in June but it got pushed back til "the fall" whatever that means.  That was the selling point for us because my DH travels so much it would allow him to see our LO.  Even without that portion yet, I still love this monitor.  I have the angelcare which I absolutely love as well.  It has given me a sense of security and I sleep much better knowing I don't have to constantly check on DS.  We've never had a false alarm.  Two of my best investments, seriously.

It is the summer infant video monitor on Amazon for (I think) $148.

I am going to put mine on Craigslist.  I'll have to go cheap, I no longer have the box or instructions.

I have the Summer Infant Slim & Secure.  It takes 2 second to set up, the battery life is fantastic, I have cordless phones, wifi and live in a townhouse and still have no interference, and you can run 4 cameras on it.

Its pretty much the coolest thing ever.

I beleive it was 179.99, however it was a gift, and I bet you can find it even cheaper.

we also have and love the summer infant baby touch monitor.  i love that the camera has a battery pack to be portable.  we had the summer day and night but got too much interferance with portable phones etc.  i sent it back to summer and received a new one.... and had the same problems.  if anyone would like to buy the day and night one off me, make an offer.... it hasnt even been used except to see if it worked any better than the last one.                                               eta... the issues with the day and night are with our other electronics, the monitor is not defective.
