I'm currently ebf, but may start also trying out formula too. If you supplement with formula, when do you give formula and how often? I don"t want to give up completely on bf, so I need to find a good balance. TIA!
You have a couple options actually. You can mix it in with your BM (premixed and whatever amount you choose) or you can choose to give whole bottles of it at night so LO will sleep longer or whenever you're out and about.

I don't BF, but I pump and supplement. Our routine is that I pump around the clock. At night, LO is fed formula, from midnight until 8am, so usually about 8oz of formula. I pump when we are up for feedings at night, usually every 3-4 hours (have one of those nifty pumping bras, its a life saver, and also DH usually takes the early night feeding). Whatever I pump at night goes straight to the freezer so I can stockpile for when I go back to work in 9 more weeks. This routine works well for us.
It depends on your siutuation and how old the LO is.
I Havent had enough milk from the beggining and even with fenugreek and pumping my supply did not increaase. I have been suplementing about 2oz every feeding although sometimes at night he does not need the bottle. I have been doing this since about 2 weeks. Now he has nipple confusion and often get frusterated at the breast. If you start suplementing too early it will affect your supply so be careful. And dont give up on BF, some Bmilk is better then none at all.

This exactly, except that I don't get enough milk to stockpile I DO get enough if I pump rounjd the clock to feed him about 3 or 4 bottles of BM during the day, and then we do formula at night.
