What would you put in a pirate chest?

I bought a chest yesterday to use for DD's pirate birthday party.

What would you put in it? The goodies bags? Or would you fill it with jewels?

  • Probably the goodie bags. In those, I would put chocolate coins, costume jewelry, some crackers (for the parrot), that kind of thing.

  • The chocolate coins covered in gold foil and they sell candy gems at party city. Maybe those candy necklaces that you bite the candy off of.  If you are doing a treasure hunt you can put a tiara in there for your DD with a tag in it that says Princess XXXX. I love pirate parties we have done a few and the kids love them.

  • Do you know what "Pirate's Booty" (the snack) is?  I'd put single-serving bags of that in the chest along with the goody bags.
  • I would put the goody bags in it. then hide it and give them all a treasure map so they can find the "buried" treasure.

  • I think the jewels idea sounds fun! And give them little bags to fill up with the jewels at the end?

  • We did a pirate party last year.  I bought mardi gras necklaces and put in as well as play coins.  The girls *and boys* loved the necklaces.
