I ordered our crib, dresser and changing table on 9/28. The crib and dresser have been delivered. The changer was originally on backorder until 10/1, no biggie.

I get an email 10/2 that states that the changer is now on backorder until 10/20, still no biggie.

I get an email today that states that the changer is now on backorder until 12/22.

I'm due Jan 19, but am likely to have him early... I cannot find the dresser anywhere else right now- it's on backorder everywhere. Would you try to find another changer that *sort of* matches or wait it out, knowing that it may be delayed again? I really want it to be the same style as my crib and dresser- but I want it ready by the time the baby comes home. WWYD?

Since you REALLY don't need the changer I would just wait it out. No big deal.

whattttt.  it's a changer, this is the least necessary piece of furniture you need! Just wait for it, and use your dresser /floor/bed in the meantime.

I personally would wait if you can't get it anywhere else. ?If need be you can always use a changing pad in the crib (it isn't bad at first when the?mattress?is set high) until it comes in.

I'd wait it out ?-- you can always use the top of your dresser until your changer comes in.

I would wait, but start looking for a backup.  If they are going to continue to postpone delivery, there may be a time when it is too late.  Consider getting a changing pad for the top of the dresser to tide you over.

The changer is really a changer/dresser, and we were going to use it for storage as well, but I guess I'll have to wait. The other dresser is over 5 feet tall so it won't work as a changer.

*sigh* I really wanted it to be ready but I guess I'll have to put on my big girl panties and deal with it!

I would wait. You aren't going to be happy settling for another piece.

I would just wait for it. I am not even ordering a changer so I am sure you can do without it if you happen to go early.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it.  I never once used my changing table.  WHenever I had to change the baby's diaper, it was just as easy for me to grab the changing mat and lay her on it on the floor.  If I knew then what I knew now, I would never have bought the changing table.

Yikes!  Did they say what the hold up was?  Is it possible to get your money back and order it through someone else?  I'd be pretty pissed but like a pp said, at least it's your dresser and in the meantime you could pretty much make due with hanging the majority of the clothes up.
