Success after IF

How long do you let your toddler roll around the crib before giving up on the nap?

Since we gave up the sleep sack, nap time has been a hassle.  She doesn't cry...she just lays in there and rolls around and talks to herself...or takes all her clothes off, lol.

She has been in there rolling around for over an hour now.  She's happy as a clam, but I'm just wondering how long I should let this go on?

She needs to nap...and I know if I leave her in there long enough, she'll go to sleep.

So, how long do you let the rolling around/talking/singing go on before you give up on the nap for the day?

  • this is hard to say because they need their naps, but honestly I have let the girls go for awhile, I just peek in making sure they are okay. They usually end up standing at the ends of their crib talking and then finally go to sleep.

  • As long as she's calm, content and safe, until she falls asleep. LO has done this a time or two and I worried. She'll let you know when she's had enough if she does not fall asleep.

I'm thinking i will be in this same boat!!  similarly, my parents always had the rule at bedtime that i didn't have to go to sleep, but I DID have to be in my room and had to be quiet.
  • I'll usually give him an hour... maybe a little more.
