I met DH on-line at Match.com I wasn't much into the bar scene and a friend of mine convinced me to try it. I grudingly agreed. I guess she was right.

I was friends w/ his friend's girlfriend and they had a bunch of people over to her place one night.

DH was there we met and started talking. He got my number and called me the next day. After that we dated and then got married. It was basically love at first sight and I'm very lucky.

DH was moving from Texas to Colorado.

My Dad's wife worked for the company that moved him and asked him if he knew anyone out here and then proceeded to help us exchange contact info.

I knew he had a kid and an ex-wife and I had zero intention of becoming romantically involved with him because I couldn't handle ex-wife baggage but I knew what it was like to be new in town and know no one so I invited him to my work happy hour and was trying to hook him up with one of my girl friends.

Yeah.... right.

We ignored everyone at the happy hour and made out almost obscenely in the parking lot when saying good bye that night. 

So much for my "no thanks on the ex-wife" thing, huh?

She does make our lives more complicated but he and his son are more than worth it.

My friend was dating his friend in HS.  I saw him a few times when I was with her and we'd see him and a group of his friends.  He asked her BF if I would give him my #, and I did.  That was almost 11 years ago, I didn't even have my drivers license.

Confession:  DH was VERY young looking, the first time I saw him I thought he was someone's younger brother, a tall 12 year old.

ETA: I mean it was almost 12 years ago that we met, not 11.  I guess time is flying.

DH and I met on Love@AOL, back when internet dating was still considered weird. I wasn't into the bar scene either, and was a commuter at college at the time, so I didn't hang around long enough to meet anyone.

Graduate school - we both got our MBAs together (though we didn't know each other until we met there and ended up living right next door to each other).  Funny story is that we didn't date in graduate school -- we both were in other relationships - it wasn't until afterwards.

Hotornot.com - my college roommate and I woudl come home from the bar, feel feisty, log on and "reverse judge" people (if they clearly thought they were hot sh!t from their picture, we judge them as a 1 and if they were average plain jane we gave them a 10). We ran across his photo and I was like WHOA! I remembered he was from the Seattle/Tacoma area (it classifies location) and the next day I made a sober search I looked through about 3000 photos to find him. I contacted him, we talked for about 4 months online and on the phone and our first date was him flying to MN to pick me up and take me to Cabo San Lucas for my 22nd birthday Good thing he wasn't an axe murderer!

we knew of each other in high school and he remembers a time when he was dating a good friend of mine and they walked me home. He said he thought I was cute.... fast forward 10 years and I was out at a bar with a girlfriend, he walked by and said "Hey you are Tabatha insert last name here" and I said, "well yes, yes I am". We danced and kissed all night, very romantic, both very drunk:)

Then he left for 2 weeks to California, when he returned he called me and we met out at Friday's for drinks, it was later, my grandmother had passed away that week. We talked and sat there until the closed. We went to leave and he grabbed me and gave me the best kiss I have ever had. The next night we met once again at a bar (I already had plans with a friend) and then the thrid night he came over for movies and stayed the night. Since the movie night we haven't really spent a night away from each other. He pretty much lived with me within 2 weeks we made it official. I gave him a key and a closet:)

In an economics class the fall of my senior/his junior year of college.    we were placed in a homework group together (by alphabetical order, we had/have the same last name) - and had to meet weekly to do the assignments.    the third guy in our group was a total flake (thank goodness), so we had lots of alone time every week together.   and we kept putting his name on the homework so he wouldn't have any motivation to start coming again.   ;-)

DH went to med school where I went to grad school.  My roomate was a med student and knew him.  I use to go to all the med school parties with her so I use to hang out with him too.  I always thought that he was cute so my roomate and a few of our friends help to match make a bit : ) 

Funny small world story.  DH's mom and my mom use to work together when I was in grade school and as as kid I remember swimming at his house!! When I 1st heard his last name I asked if his mom used to teach and so and so school and she did.  Can I tell you how excited our parents all were when we got together : )

At a nightclub at Foxwoods Casino. My girlfriend started dancing with his friend...and then he was on the dance floor dancing along. So I started dancing with him. I was a bit drunk. We made out.

My friend and his friend hit it off too. We ended up spending the rest of the night with them- gambling, breakfast and then my friend invited them back to our room (that we were sharing with 2 other girls). Totally not my style, but with 4 others in the room- what could really happen beyond snuggling. So we made a bed on the floor and snuggled for a couple hours. Woke up, we all hit Dunkin Donuts and went on our way.

He called me the next day and the rest is history!

We met in 2002 as reporters at the same newspaper. He'd already been there a couple years when I took a job there. It seems crazy that we've know each other 9 years and been married 5...it's hard to remember how it was before we met!

We met at work, yes office romance.  I was an Intern and he was an Associate.  I was shy and new and went and introduced myself to all of the female coworkers in the office and then went back to my desk.  A minute or so later I heard this friendly voice and I turned around and there was the sexiest smile ever and the kindest eyes, and can you tell I was smitten from that point.  I was smitten but clueless since I thought he was way out of my league and was just being friendly.  He kept coming to my desk all of the time and I kept brushing it off.  Soon he asked me to study with him, he was takng the Bar Exam and I was still in law school, so we started as friends but then found we could not keep our eyes or hands off of eachother   We were of different cultures, faiths, and ages, and his parents stopped talking to him when we formally became a couple but it was all worth it

One of my best friends from college's family is awesome - often when they have a party, the parents invite their friends and allow their kids to bring their friends. (Are you with me?) So it was at one of my friend's parent's parties, all dressed up and pretending to be fancy, partying with the age 60+ crowd when I met my friend's little brother's best friend from high school who also happened to be at the party. And then we fell in love. The end.

This family is honestly composed of the nicest, most generous people around. Our friends' parents were so excited that we were getting married that they threw a pre-rehearsal-dinner dinner for us and our families two days before our wedding. I them!

Ben and I met at work 7 years ago.  I was a newly hired manager who needed a sales support person.  He worked in the warehouse and wanted to move up in the company.  I hired him and was his boss for a year or so.  Without really realizing it, we started to have feelings for each other toward the end of that year.  I had recently ended a LTR with a DB and was back in the dating scene.  Ben and I started hanging out after work with some other friends for a weekly Trivia Night.  He ended up getting another promotion and switching managers.  Two days later he confessed his feelings for me and the rest is history.

We are the first couple from our company to get married!  And yes, we still work together.  We are basically together 24/7.

At Grad Student Council. He was managing editor of the grad newsletter and I was getting over a bad breakup and needed some new projects. He was in a serious long distance relationship at the time and wore a promise ring. I thought it was a wedding band and asked him about it. He was all business running the meeting and brushed me off with ab abrubt "almost". Two months later his gf cheated on him for the 2nd time and dumped him. We became friends at a GSC retreat and started hanging out casually. I even tried to set him up with a labmate. A few weeks later we started dating and have been attached at the hip since.

I dated one of his good friends the summer before my junior year of high school. They were on the same hockey team and I remember always noticing the hot redheaded goalie. Apparently, he was noticing me too, because when we ran into each other at a bar during my Senior year (yes, I was underage, he was not), we remembered each other RIGHT away. In no time at all we hit the dance floor, made out, he took me out to breakfast and we were inseparable from that day.

Yahoo Personals. we also both had ads on Match.com.   When I found out he had the same name as my  recent ex-BF I thought "Ugh, I'm not so sure about that". 

For Christmas one year (our 1st Christmas as BF/GF) he took all the emails we exchanged before we met and a few after and had them binded into a book.

I used to work for a Stockbroker and this is how he got some of his clients.  A lot of his clients were divorced Jewish women over 50.   They would open an account with him, buy some stock (that would plummet and become worthless).  We called them "One Trade Wonders". 

Oh and the Broker would have to mark on their account How he knows them and he would put "referral"  LOL.   We'd be like "Um yeah referral riiight"

College.....we had the same scholarship which required our service to the school at certain events, so we got to know one another and became friends. I was dating someone else but after he and I broke up, (now) DH said he wanted to be more than friends. The rest is history!
