Re: **Whine Wednesday**

  • I'm really frustrated with this "age"...I'm trying very hard to model good decision making, let L make "choices, using action statements instead of "no" statements, and try not to yell or scream but it seems like talking to a brickwall...yesterday L had a melt down in the the middle of target- I tried to contain it- it didnt work- so I had to finish my shopping - we went home but the rest of the day was awful- even after his nap...I had to put him in his crib 3 times and walk away to cool down and by the time DH got home at 8- I was seething....

I know we all have bad days and he was just being 19 months- but seriously when ever fricken answer to every question is "NO" and then crying...I cant take it...and I am really wondering how I'm going to do it with two.....

Ugh this is NOT what I want to be reading.  I'm terrified of having 2 already.  I hope it gets better for you!

DH & I got into a fight last night and I'm pissed.  I'm afraid it will effect my BP reading at my OB appt. this morning.

I sort of wish I was taking more time off before the baby (my last day of work will be next Friday barring any bed rest).  I never got the "nesting" urge with DD but I have it now and all I can think about is how many things I could be getting done at home!

  • Alex isn't sleeping well.  He was up yelling from 9-10 last night and then woke up for the day at 5am.  Ugg.  He's got 3 teeth coming in, is on an antibiotic and seems gassy.

We have an overnight guest tonight and the guest room is right across from Alex's room.  I pray he sleeps tonight.

  • Both of my kids have been so needy lately.  I thought we escaped the 2's without tantrums and then over the weekend, we were out shopping and Owen slapped me across the face so hard that it hurt for awhile and then he bit me.  I was kind of in shock.  Not that he doesn't give me a hard time, but usually in public, he is well-behaved.  My pregnant sister (with her first) was with us and she was so funny to watch.  I didn't know what to do and the whole time Mia was crying to get out of the stroller as well.  We were out to get them new sneakers...which they are usually good for.  YIKES!  Here is the best part.  I was just going to leave, but they specifically let me use a discount from the week before because they just got shoes in and Owen calmed down.  Great, but when I got home, I realized that his sneakers are the wrong size.  I mean, they fit, but the person who usually sizes them didn't size him and they are only a 1/2 size up from what he had last year, so we have to go back.  I swore I would not.  Ha.

I guess the point of this vent is that I usually take them everywhere by myself and they are starting to be too difficult.  Very frustrating.
