Recommend a Bottle Warmer

HI everyone...

Well to make my life easier I'm thinking of buying a bottle warmer,...

but there are so many out there, can you recommend one, or tell me

which one doesnt work.

Also I have Tommee Tipee bottles, so I wonder if they will fit in any bottle warmer.

TIA!

Re: Recommend a Bottle Warmer

  • I got one as a gift but returned it (never used it).  We just put a pan of water on the stove on low-med heat to heat it up, then put the bottle in and turn it down to low.  It's warm in a few minutes.  I don't know if the bottle warmer was as fast...

no advice on which to get...all we do is run some hot water over the bottle to melt the fatty stuff back into it (breastmilk) and take a little of the chill off.  She'll take it like that so we dont ever to worry about being out and needing to warm a bottle.

This -- the best thing we ever did was get LO used to drinking breastmilk or formula cold (not that it took much convincing..she didn't really mind either way).  I still warm up the bottles before bedtime by putting it in a glass of warm water, but that's it.  Life has been so much easier (less time for her screaming when she's really hungry, just take it right out of the fridge).  Plus, it's not like we would have a warmer with us if we were out and about.

I would give it a shot if you haven't already.

For bottle warmers, we were originally looking at ones that had a defrost option since I was freezing breastmilk.  Never ended up buying it though.

  • Love our bottle warmer! We have the Munchkin Bottle Warmer from Target. Takes 90 seconds. It was $9.99 in store when I got it a few months back. I can't find it online now, but it's very similar to this one.

  • We have the Dr.Brown and like it fine.  It takes just over 4 min to heat 5oz, although every once in awhile its still cold after that.

  • We bought one, and it's piece of crap. It's a First Years brand. We actually hardly ever use it. I should have read the reviews on it before I bought it - they would have helped a lot!  We use a cup of hot water to put the bottle in when we want to warm it up.

  • Thanks a lot!!!!

  • I hate the Tommee Tippee warmer!  There are 3 settings, but none of it makes any sense (settings 1 and 2 are just to keep it warm after already being heated on 3).  The darn things just gets hotter and hotter (can't choose temperature) so don't dare step away or you will have a scalding hot bottle that baby can't drink! You just have to guess when it's done!
