All my inlaws keep telling me that its bad for my new baby to sleep with her mouth open. They say that she wont sleep as sound and that later on when shes a kid she will still be sleeping with her mouth open. I guess they think i should push it closed..... Does anyone know anything about this ??? sounds like an OLD WIVES TALE,, but Im not sure...

Re: Baby sleeping with mouth open,, bad???
Not sure about babies but it can eventually be a problem when they are older. Sometimes mouth breathers have small arches and appliances are required to widen the arch to allow adequate space for all teeth to come in.
I wouldn't worry about it too much at such a young age.
sometimes mine does, sometimes not--
now DH-- he ALWAYS sleeps with it open
Sayyy whhaaat?
What are you supposed to do about it anyways?
I'm sure it's fine. They'll outgrow it.
LOL, this exactly,
