I'm considering getting this for a second car seat for ds. Does anyone have one? I see they are rated good but I want actual opinions. It seems kinda weird that the back detaches to make a booster.
It's a good seat, but the "3-in-1" part is deceptive, because it's not a rear facing seat. It goes from a forward facing only harnessed seat to a high back booster to a backless booster. Therefore, it's not really an appropriate choice for a toddler, since they should still be in a seat that can be RF.
If you're looking for a 2nd seat, check out the Cosco Scenera and Graco MyRide. Both RF to 40 lbs and FF to 65 lbs.
Graco my ride is what we have for a primary car seat. The cover won't stay on it anymore and we have issues with the straps having to be adjusted all the time. I may end up having to just suck it up and spend $150 to get another one. I got the first one when it was on sale for $115 but they never seem to have those deals anymore. What kind of car seat does everyone use for their almost 2 year old forward facing toddler? I'm looking for one with a cup holder he can reach. He likes to stick small toys etc in them so that was one good thing about the my ride was that it didn't have those open cup holders.
If you are front facing the 3 in 1 is a good choice. We switched DD to it a couple weeks ago and she loves it. We found it pretty easy to use as well. Although its only been a couple of weeks I'm happy with it.
We moved DS1 to the nautilus right after he turned 2. He loves it. It doesn't recline as much so we don't get naps in the car very often. It was a good choice for us since DS2 needed our Marathon. If your LO is FF then it is a good choice.
