When is CD 1 when spotting

I started spotting on Thursday, and continued spotting here and there on Friday.  By late Friday it was clear my period started.  So do I consider CD 1 Friday, which makes today CD 5 (and time to start clomid) or do i say CD 1 is Saturday and start the clomid tomorrow.

What happens if I start the clomid at the wrong time?  will it effect the cycle?

sorry to be so frantic, but with all the earthquake drama today (I live in the DC area) I didn't get a chance to call the dr.

    My RE/OB always said the first day of RED flow.   So I always looked for the first sign of red (my spotting was always brown).

    At my clinic, CD1 was the first day of full flow.  I don't know about what starting on the wrong day will do (I never did clomid).  I think I'd call your RE first thing tomorrow am.
