Hormone Shift?

Did anyone have a crazy hormone shift around the time your LO turned 1?

I don't know what the hell is going on with me lately.  For the last couple of weeks I've been completely out of sorts.  I'm on edge all the time and have very little patience.  I'm feeling extra emotional and have been dealing with anxiety.  This is very different from how I normally feel and act.  I'm usually very even keeled and can let things slide off my shoulders.

Lately I've been on the edge of tears or feel like I will lose my temper.  I can't put my finger on what's going one.  Part of me thinks it's because I'm stressed out cause we've been so busy but I also wonder if maybe my hormones are doing something weird.

I HATE feeling like this and my poor husband has been the brunt of my emotions.  Thankfully I've been able to keep it from the girls, but I'd like to snap out of it before I start taking it out on them too.  Has anyone else gone through something similar?

Re: Hormone Shift?

  • I sure the heck did but for me it was 100% related to weaning.

    I'm sorry hon.

I'm sure its not a fun ride.

    Hope you even out soon!

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

  • I mentioned it to my family doctor and my OB and they both said "hello you have two young kids!  It's normal to feel that way."  But I hate it.  I had bloodwork done and my hormones are all out of whack again (PCOS suckssss).

I have no advice...just letting you know you aren't alone!!

  • I feel that way but I think it's having a 3 year old and a not quite walking 11 month old. I also just stopped nursing 2 weeks ago so I'm sure that doesn't help. I almost bet you will feel better just because you wrote this out!
