Food doesn't taste good...anyone else?

I'm 12 weeks pregnant with my first baby and most foods have not tasted good for about 7 weeks. Before I got pregnant I LOVED food!  I didn't overeat, but I certainly looked forward to my next meal and really enjoyed eating.  Now that I'm pregnant nothing really tastes good except for a few things.  I don't have morning sickness so that's not it.  What's happened and is this something that is going to pass? Please say it will!!  Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm kind of like this now. Nothing really tastes bad, but nothing is terribly appealing. I pretty much just eat because I need to.

I agree.  Lately I have zero appetite and nothing sounds good to me.  I am extremely thirsty though.  I can't get enough water to drink!  I feel guilty for not being hungry, but I know my body and the baby will tell me when it needs food.

This is how I am but i'm only almost 5 weeks (tomorrow!!! woo hoo)...it's as if I have not taste buds.  I eat but it just doesn't taste the same!

I've heard of food aversions during pregnancy, but not really aversions to almost everything.  I'm hoping it will pass.  I miss food tasting good.  Especially those that used to be my favorites

I find that some foods don't taste the same even, that they taste bland or not as good.

I feel this way now... I normally eat lunch at home but I was out running errands today so I decided to pick something up... and NOTHING sounded good.  I'm not nauseated, I just kinda turn my nose up at everything.  Didn't even finish my toast for breakfast.  Ended up with my FAVORITE Subway sandwich, and it definitely didn't hit the spot Hopefully it will pass!

There is this phenomonon called "metal mouth", where everything tastes a little metallic.  My mom experienced it for all her pregnancies, and I have it for this one on and off. 

 All this to say that the pregnancy hormones can affect your taste buds, too.

I have been eating like I have the flu. Toast w/ peanut butter, chicken noodle soup, cheese sandwiches, fruit, and applesauce seem to be all I can tolerate. Really missing my food!
