After reading my rant post about DH, seems like a lot of us are in the same boat. I'm going to say I think my H still hasn't totally felt the connection with the baby yet, because I have no actual physical signs of pregnancy (no belly)  But still. Not an excuse for being a douchecanoe

I just want to say that my H is amazing and wonderful!  (Although I'm sure at some point before March I'm going to want to throat-punch him )

Yep!  i think it is! I already went on my lengthy rant-o-the-week on my H, things are a little better, but I'd hardly say this is the end of it.  Here's to hoping our husband's last through the pregnancy *clink* (imaginary wine, of course...)

That made me giggle.  And I'm sorry your H's are being such idiots.  Mine is being really good about my various new/enhanced insanities but I think having been around both his sisters, nieces and his "work-wife" during their pregnancies he's pretty much seen it all.

MH was never really a douche or anything, but I would say he was more ambivalent. We had our first u/s last week and since then he has been a lot more attentive and protective. I think it takes a little more time for them to feel connected and like it's real. It's no excuse to be an a-hole, but they do seem kind of separated from the whole experience in some respects.

All week I thought mine was being a jerk, but after a long talk Sunday, he is more stressed than he has ever been. Thinking about finances, remodling the office to make room for nursery..TWINS...He did admit to being a jerk and saying some crappy stuff but he did apologize so I am giving him some breathing room.

But I definitely feel your pain...hang in there

Agreed.  DH and I both have a cold.  Not only am I taking care of DS, but I'm waiting on him, bc he is such a baby when he is sick.

When will someone take care of me??

I think your right about the lack of connection and physical signs of pregnancy. I had complained to my friend about my H and she said hers didn't kick into gear until the first ultrasound where the baby looked like an actual baby instead of like a bean like in the earlier U/S's and got to hear the beartbeat as well as being able to see the belly poke. THEN and only then did he start being more considerate. At this point it seems pretty obvious that my H feels like its waaay to early for me to need any extra attention or pampering so I told him next ultrasound, HE'S GOING. So far I just brought the little bean pics home but now that I'm a little farther along it's def time. Ladies, let's just hope this little manstration period only lasts a week!!!

My theory is that this week is particularly bad because most fantasy football drafts are occuring this week.  I know MH has been "off" and over-concentrating on football and therefore being an a$$.  He has a draft tonight and one on Sat.  The one this weekend is always rough because he goes to a friends house and gets super drunk (like college days drunk).  I told him to just spend the night there this time because I won't be able to carry him up the stairs!
