Need to buy a car that better fits two car seats. Anyone have either an Acadia, an Enclave or a Jeep Grand Cherokee? How do your car seats fit - specifically an infant seat and a rear-facing toddler seat?
Not a two under two but love to lurk here. I recently bought a new SUV and really looked at the Acadia and Enclave. My suggestion would be to go and look at them. The Acadia for the price didn't have the options I wanted (memory seating on the front driver seat) and the middle row captain seats were nice but difficult to fold down. The Enclave was really nice and had a ton more options for the price. Both of these SUVs have the middle row with the Captains seats (you can get a bench row) I took our carseat (currently it's a rear facing convertible car seat out of my car and put it into both SUVs and neither had a problem.
We ended up getting the Lexus RX 350 because we decided to down size from my older Mountaineer and got a great deal!
Just wanted to say that there are loads of cars/vans/SUVs smaller than those that fit two car seats (DH has a Mitsubishi Outlander XLS and I have a Mazda5, both fit two car seats with no problems), so either of those would likely fit two car seats just fine. You'll probably need to go test drive them to see which would fit your needs better.
I've been researching new vehicles for a while now, and finally decided on the Enclave. I don't have it, and have to test drive it before it's my final decision, but it seems to be the best vehicle for the price. The Acadia seems overpriced for the options it offers and the Enclave is so similar or much less money! I really want the 2 captains chairs instead of a bench seat in the 2nd row, so my options were very low. My aunt has the Acadia and seems to really love it, but again... I think they paid way too much for it!!
SAHM to the sweetest little girl and boy... I love my job!
I have the Acadia and LOVE IT! I had looked at and even negotiated on the MB ML350 but it is so much smaller. The Acadia seemed a bit 'younger' to me then the Buick but I loved them both. Wasn't a big fan of the wood paneling in the Enclave and to add insult to injury, the sales guy even told me that I was too young for the car. Interesting sales tactic.

I am very interested in the new Jeep Grand Cherokee, we plan to go look at them later this year (ie when it cools the frick off to walk car lots). That's all I have.
I have a CR-V now and its going to fit two seats just fine.
My only suggestion is to bring your car seat and put the one that will be behind the driver's seat in to make sure you have enough leg room. We are both over 6' tall and when we looked at the Jeep Grand Cherokee we found it was way too small for the driver to have a RF carseat behind them. We liked the Enclave, but it felt too "old" for us. Essentially, we wound up with a Volvo XC 90, but looked at almost every SUV on the market for about 5 months.
