In anticipation of #3 arriving, we plan to buy a double stroller (most likely a city mini). I am wondering if I will also want to use the single stroller (maybe carry one in a wrap/SSC and push another in the stroller). Our single stroller has seen better days and I hate to use it (hard to push, basket is broken, etc.) and I have been thinking about a newish one (saw a Peg Perego P3 on CL for $100). DH thinks we just need a double and won't want to use the single at all. What do you think?
Re: 2u2- Single stroller or just a double?
For me, I wore baby in a carrier/pushed my oldest in a single stroller a lot in the early months. I actually second guessed my decision to get a double stroller-until June hit. I've put a ton of miles on my double stroller this summer. Babywearing plus heat=not fun.
I'd still advise you to get a double on CL, though. I'd also wait until your 2u2 are actually here so you know if a double works for you or not. I think it's crazy to not have one, but I'm sure not everyone agrees with me.
Thanks KC
I would consider buying the double stroller off CL, but most likely would buy new because I haven't seen a great deal (seems like people ask pretty close to what they paid) and unless I am saving $100 or more, I would prefer new, especially since I anticipate that I would use it a lot.
It isn't off the table, DH and I talk about it occasionally. I don't love the convertibles. Britax seems like LO in the back looks wouldn't be too comfy or see well and the CS seems like it would be hard to steer, feel bulky and tall for a short pusher like me. I can only go by what I read online though, haven't found any locally to test. And they are SO pricey to buy with any concerns like I have. Seems to me like City Mini (not cheap, but sounds very handy) would be easier to maneuver and to pull out when we need the double and not sure if we would even need a single (that's my question here) but if it is only occasional, we could have one with us if aren't taking both babies (most of the time I will have all three kids, sometimes only 2, and rarely only 1). With 2u2 do you really need a single anymore?
