We live just outside of Savannah,GA, and even though I am just over 8 weeks pregnant, because of my husband and I's jobs,i wanted to start planning a babymoon for the fall. Does anyone have any ideas, or know of any places (max4-5hr drive) that have babymoon specials? or a nice hotel or condo that will be comfortable and quiet? any input is appreciated! thanks!
Have you ever been to Tennessee? I live an hour away from Nashville and it's a beautiful area! Tons of things to do in Nashville like the Gaylord Opryland, local music and sightseeing. Look into Nashville, everyone is friendly and its more than just a barhopping city. Just be aware though, that some attractions near Opryland remain closed because of the floods in the spring of 2010. Just somewhere to look into. Hope you enjoy the babymoon where ever you choose to go! Congrats!

This is where we honeymooned (we only had a few days), and I highly recommend it for a weekend vacation! It's super laid back, plus there's great food and tons of things to do besides honky tonk bars. We always stay at the Doubletree downtown, which is walking distance to everything.
Our babymoon/anniversary is next weekend, and we're staycationing here in town. We booked a room at the nicest hotel in town, and the room came with breakfast reservations and a spa credit. And we only have to drive about 10 minutes.
DH and I flew down to Florida for our babymoon when I was pregnant with DS. I have family there so we spent time with family but we also spent a lot of time by ourselves since they worked. We spent about 2-3 days in St. Augustine (which we do love the shops there), went to the fort and I even climbed the lighthouse at 22 weeks. That was the end of October 2009 and it was still plenty warm with highs in the upper 80's.
We also like Savannah (but obviously you don't need to go there). We have stayed at a resort on Edisto Island in SC that was peaceful and comfortable. I think it was a timeshare but I'm sure they may be a hotel there. From there we did daytrips to Charleston and Savannah (so it shouldn't be too far for you). That was the end of September beginning of October and it was still in the 80's-90's.
Sorry I don't know of any baby moon specials but with the economy in the tank and it being an off season (I'm assuming since I don't know the tourist season down south) you can probably snag a good deal, just figure out where you want to go and watch for specials.
Sorry no paragraphs, bumping from my phone.

The Outer Banks of North Carolina is very nice and relaxing and still quite warm in the fall. You can rent cottages for the week, stay at a nice hotel, at a resort or go father south in the outer banks and stay in a bed and breakfast. It may be more of a drive than you're looking for but thought I'd suggest it.
Thanks for all this input!! If the husband is up for the drive, heading out to Tennesee might be a great fall idea! We have gone to blue ridge,ga for getaways before. But I also found some wonderful bed and breakfasts that look extremely comforting
Re: BabyMoon ideas in the southeast?
I was going to say Savannah, but you live there DH and I live in CA and visited Savannah and absolutely fell in love!
Is Hilton Head too close? The resorts are gorgeous and you'd definitely save on gas that could go toward a room...or room service
Otherwise I'd check out New Orleans, I think. I've always wanted to go!
Go to Charleston, it's nice, maybe not so nice as Savannah.
Or you live so close, I've heard nice things about Tybee Island. I've heard nice things about St. Marys/Cumberland Island as well......
