Best Ab Workout PP?

Hi everyone, I haven't seen this posted in about the last month, so I apologize if this question is redundant- what is your favorite ab workout or ab video?

I will be six weeks PP after my c-section next week and am ready to address all the extra "squishy" around my middle! I'm not looking for other aspects like cardio or fat burning etc but I'm open to trying anything.

Thanks for your recommendations!

Re: Best Ab Workout PP?

  • *butts in*  Can you guys also recommend your DURING pregnancy ab workouts?  I'd love to read both.

MMhorn - one of the things the health nurse recommended I do first was "pelvic tilts".  I never bothered to learn what they were, lol..but you can probably google that.

Also, I like bicycle crunches.  I feel they are more effective that traditional crunches, but that may just be me.

PLANK!  I am still doing them at 40 weeks pregnancy and my core has remanined very strong.

I think Pilates is the most challenging ab workout (aside from kettlebells) and I plan on resuming my full Pilates regimen once I delivery.  I have still been doing some Pilates with my yoga, while pregnant.

Make sure you are tucked in a true plank and not down dog or up dog.  This is the mistake I see most often in my students.

Check your alignment in a mirror, if you can.

If you are truly in plank you will feel it in your core.

Also, try forearm plank and side plank as variations.

    I like these, too
