What to get a 2nd time mom?

My best friend is expecting baby #2 - her first boy. 

I have no clue what to add on to her baby gift. I assume a lot of the essentials she has leftover from her daughter, but I want to get something other than the clothes I bought (2 boy sleepers and two long sleeved onesie outfits)

What's a good add-on?

For my shower she got me a Burt's Bees bath set, 2 lovely muslin blankets, and some medela steam bags.

I know I am over-thinking this one...

I was going to suggest something like a bath set.  Or maybe a gift card for a photography session or birth announcements or something like that.

BTW, socks will be mailed on on Monday

honestly...gift card for diapers/wipes.  It's pretty much the best gift we get in the mail.  We're currently sitting at about 4-5 months worth of diapers in gift card form.

What would make me most happy as a 2nd time mom would be a "gift certificate" for a night of babysitting DC1. However, since you are also expecting, maybe a frozen meal so she wont have to cook. Or a real gift certificate to her favorite restaurant. If in doubt, diapers always work

I was Team Green with my first, so all my washcloths, burp cloths, receiving blankets, etc were neutral. However, they are beat to hell and are in desperate need of replacement. Love getting these.

As a 2nd time Mom I need (hope this will help give you ideas!) new bottle nipples, breast milk storage bags, paci's, monitor (DS is in a big boy bed but we stlll want a monitor in his room) clothes, and now that were having the opposite sex, I love all things girly!

Thanks for the ideas ladies I think I am going to throw in some washcloths and a gift card for a restaurant (take out!) 

I am doing a diaper cake for the little luncheon we're throwing, so that's another useful add-on I think!

Gift cards are awesome -- for food or even something like a Shutterfly GC -- I spend SO much money getting prints at Shutterfly, so I'd go crazy over something like that!

Love this idea!  Other things I am needing are diapers/wipes (by far my favorite gift right now), breastmilk storage bags, lanolin crea, diaper cream, and I am replacing all my bibs, spit rags, washclothes and towels as the ones from DS are all very used.

Offer to take her first child out for the day to give her a much needed break.  I know that I would have really appreciated that when I brought DS home.  I also like the idea of a gift card for her birth announcements/NB photos.

ok, i got my friend a personalized mother's necklace from etsy...yours could say the name of her first born on one tag and the name of her little boy and birthdate on the second tag....i'll post a link. she has a ton of different ones but this is just an example.
