One of my friend's sister's name is Hanna, it actually kind of drives me nuts.  Hannah is the original spelling, right?  So wouldn't Hanna count as another case of just trying to be youneek?

I see Hanna and I automatically think Ha-NAH, which is Japanese for "Flower".

I don't pronounce them the same. I used to know a Hanna and she pronounced it Haw-nuh. Hannah is much prettier.
